'Star Trek: Picard' Season 2 Episode 2: Picard labeled 'traitor' for saving Borg Queen
The first episode ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Season 2 ended with the reintroduction of a massive character, Q. The premiere served as the perfect start to Picard’s newest adventure and gave us a hint of how the season will turn out to be. However, the ending was something that shocked everyone. Seeing Q (John De Lancie) once again made Picard really uncomfortable, but he didn’t know that something was even worse for waiting for him.
The episode begins by putting everyone in different situations and scenarios. We saw how Q got Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) trapped and it will be hard for him to get out of there. Q tells him how Picard has been the reason behind some of the most gruesome killings in history and why he needs to pay for them. However, when his PA named Harvey comes to meet them, Q suddenly vanishes. Harvey tells Picard to get ready because it’s eradication day. Meanwhile, Seven of Nine, aka Annika Hansen (Jeri Ryan) is now the President and the entire community is celebrating Eradication Day. But this year, it’s special because they are eradicating one of their worst enemies, the Borg Queen.

Hansen says to get a secure line to Rios (Santiago Cabrera) and wants to talk to him in private. By the way, Hansen is now married.
A few moments later, we see Rios on a ship that’s a part of the war. The Vulcan planet is being attacked and Hansen calls him to talk about the current situation. He takes a different route and heads back to the planet where everyone from the Stargazer is present. Elsewhere, Hansen takes a look at the Borg Queen (Annie Wersching) and finds out that Agnes (Alison Pill) is also present there. They meet the Borg who tells them that there has been a divergence in the timeline, which means someone has messed up the timeline.
Meanwhile, Raffi and Elnor have also found themselves and are presented in front of Hansen by General Picard. They all finally meet and realize that something is odd. Picard understands that we can’t go out of this situation until Q realizes that they have passed some sort of test. After their conversation, they meet the Borg Queen who tells Picard that Q performed a temporal recision and the change takes place in 2024 on planet Earth (Los Angeles to be précised). She tells Picard that there is someone, a watcher, who can help them in getting everything back to normal.
It’s time for the Eradication Day and they make the plan of transporting everyone to Rios’ ship. However, Agner isn’t able to make the transporting thing work properly. Everyone is excited that Picard will be executing the Borg Queen, but they lose their patience when he doesn’t. Hansen’s husband sent one of the bodyguards to kill her and Picard told Hansen that they would have to fight their way out of this place.
Picard kills two of the guards and that’s when Agnes finally is able to successfully begin the transporting system. Everyone gets transported to Rios’ ship. When we thought that everything was super cool, Hansen’s husband and two of the guards manage to deactivate the deflection shields to catch all of them. He threatens to kill Picard and says it will be amazing to collect his head. The episode ends with Hansen’s husband saying that Picard should be called a “traitor” and pointing out the gun at him.
It’ll be interesting to see what will happen now. Will there be any casualties? Will Picard be labeled a traitor? The answers to these burning questions will be given in the upcoming weeks.
'Star Trek: Picard' Season 2 returns to Paramount+ with a new episode every Thursday.
