LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY: A grand jury on Tuesday, February 21 indicted a former University of Kentucky student who was seen in a widely circulated video punching a BLACK student and hurling racist slurs. A Fayette County grand jury indicted Sophia Rosing, 22, on each of the six crimes she was first charged with, including assault and felony assault on a police officer.

Rosing was barred from the campus by UK President Eli Capilouto, who also declared that she would not be permitted to reapply. She was charged with three charges of fourth-degree assault, one case of second-degree disorderly conduct, one count of intoxication from alcohol, and one count of third-degree assault on a police officer, as reported by New York Post.

What did Sophia Rosing do?

MEAWW previously reported Rosing, who is WHITE, entered the university's Boyd Hall and appeared heavily intoxicated, according to a student who works at the front desk of the residence hall. The student worker, Kylah Spring, stated in a TikTok video that she attempted to check on the woman but was instead assaulted and bombarded with filthy comments.

Rosing used the N-word repeatedly while attempting to assault and abused Spring in terrifying videos that circulated on social media. Spring, after attempting to swing at Rosing, asked, "Would you stop please?" as seen in one video. "Nope. You’re a n**r and you’re a b***h." "Oh Jesus lord, I do not get paid enough for this,” Spring calmly said. A voice off-camera said, "I got this all on video."

When Spring and another student attempted to get her into a seat, Rosing lunged at them and kicked her. Following that, she attempts to push a shopping cart at them in another video. Spring claimed that while she was being told to finish her chores, Rosing repeatedly struck, kicked, and bit her arm. "The girl starts saying things like 'do my chores,' 'it's not my fault you're Black,' 'it's not my fault you're ugly,' and at this point, she's like singing the N-word," Spring explained.

Rosing's intolerant rant continued even after the cops arrived and handcuffed her. Rosing kept singing the N-word as the officer handcuffed her and placed her hands behind her back. "Hey, guess what? You’re going to jail," the office arresting her said. Rosing allegedly bit and kicked a police officer, prompting an assault charge against her.

Following the viral success of Rosing's racist tirade, university students organized a "March Against Racism" demonstration on their campus. At the November demonstration, Spring addressed the crowd of supporters, saying, “I am deeply saddened by the events that took place, but I am most grateful for justice that is to come and to Miss Rosing, you will not break my spirit."

On March 17, Rosing will return to court for her arraignment, as reported by Fox 56.

'Well deserved!'

People were quick to respond to social media with one claiming, "Well deserved! I hope every university in the state follows suit. She doesn't deserve a college education in KY." Another said, "I don’t think being drunk is the reason she said the N-word. That’s her raising. People don’t just throw that word out." A third chimed in saying, "good. what she did and said was completely inappropriate and wrong. no matter what the “reason” is (cause let’s be honest the whole drunk thing is an excuse)." "These comments are just not passing the vibe check lol. There’s never an excuse for that racist behavior. There are so many people who get super messed up and never spit hate like that," said a fourth. A fifth commented, "Banned for assault and race-based harrassment. Clearly this is a sign of the woke mob going too far. Can't hit a desk worker and call them racist slurs anymore."
