'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 2 Takeaway: Melanie Cavill's big sacrifice hints at a happy ending

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: AMC+ is airing the fourth and final season of the post-apocalyptic thriller 'Snowpiercer'. Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill plays a pivotal role throughout the narrative except for her absence in the second season.
In the finale of Season 3, Melanie returned and betrayed Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) to regain control of the eternal engine, before finally agreeing to split the train in two halves.
However, the tables have turned for Melanie yet again in Season 4 as she finds herself in a tough spot.
Melanie Cavill gives up the Eternal Engine in 'Snowpiercer' Season 4
Melanie is forced to surrender her beloved engine after Admiral Anton Milius (Clark Gregg) and his men threaten to kill Ben (Iddo Goldberg). However, she immediately starts working on a plan to get back to the engine and defeat Admiral.
During this process, she meets Nima, a scientist, brought on Snowpiercer by Admiral Milius. Nima tells Melanie about his scientific discovery and attempts to bring the Earth's temperature back to normal.
For Nima's scientific discovery to succeed, he needs Snowpiercer to travel to another part of the world and launch his compound through a missile that would reduce the impact of CW7. It would also require docking the train at Silo.
Even though she doesn't trust Admiral Milius, Melanie is convinced by Nima's data and decides to join the mission.
Will the passengers finally get a happy ending in 'Snowpiercer' Season 4?
Remember the time when Melanie deboarded Snowpiercer to conduct research on warm spots?
She has always chosen to serve humanity over her own safety. And this time too, she takes a leap of faith, hoping that Earth would return to its normal temperature with Nima's compound.
But does that mean that Snowpiercer passengers would have a happy time from here onwards? Well, that's a no!
Despite Melanie's sacrifice, there's a long way before the passengers get a happy ending. Admiral Milius doesn't appear to be the kind of man who would let peace prevail for much longer.
Under his command, things are bound to go haywire, especially since Andre Layton would be tracing him after his daughter's abduction.
Despite all the upcoming adversities, we expect things to end well for the Snowpiercer passengers by the final episode, as this is the last season of the series.
