'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2 brings back fan-favorite character in an unexpected return to add new threat
In an interesting turn of events, it has now been officially confirmed that Uma Thurman will be returning to play her character of Charley in 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2. According to a Variety report, Thurman will once again be seen as the former Special Ops officer working for Peter Dinklage's Leon Prater in the 'Dexter' spinoff. The announcement closely follows the confirmation of 'Succession' star Brian Cox's casting as Don Framt, otherwise known in the show's world as the dreaded serial killer, the New York Ripper.
Although Thurman's Charley had enlisted with Prater in the debut season of 'Dexter: Resurrection,' the first installment concluded with her ending her relationship with Prater and fleeing New York City to care for her terminally ill mother. In addition to these stars, Michael C. Hall appears as the titular super killer in the Paramount+ show. Thurman is a celebrated actor known for her film and television work. She was nominated for the Academy Award for 'Pulp Fiction' in 1995. She eventually collaborated with famed director Quentin Tarantino on the two 'Kill Bill' installments. She also appeared in the films 'Red, White and Royal Blue', 'Oh Canada', and 'Hollywood Stargirl'.
Apart from these, Thurman was nominated for an Emmy for her guest role in the television series 'Smash' and also bagged a Golden Globe for her performance in the HBO film 'Hysterical Blindness.' Elsewhere, Season 2 had been in the pipeline for a long time before Hall officially announced on October 8, 2025, that the show had been renewed for a second season. The renewal closely followed the conclusion of the debut season, which ended with Dexter coming to terms with his destiny as a vigilante killer. He did this after eliminating the antagonist Prater. Furthermore, he also left behind revealing case clues for the New York Police Department and took it upon himself to hunt down several other killers, utilizing the information he gleaned from the files he managed to take. The final imagery of the debut season saw Dexter sailing Prater's boat to an undisclosed location.
Alongside Thurman, Cox, and Hall, the remaining season two cast might also include Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, Kadia Saraf as Detective Wallace, James Remar as Harry Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, and Dominic Fumusa as Detective Oliva. Emilia Suárez’s Elsa, Eric Stonestreet's Al, and Emily Kimball’s Gigi can also be expected to appear. One might also speculate that several other actors will join the show to play the killers that would be hunted down by the titular protagonist. 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2 is slated to arrive in October.
