'Snowpiercer' Season 2 Finale Preview: Will Melanie Die? Shocking fan theories hint to a heartbreaking end to her journey
Season 2 of ‘Snowpiercer’ has given viewers an uncountable number of rip-roaring moments and action sequences. With the finale just around the corner, fans are eagerly waiting for their favorite characters to survive on the show. However, there are many who believe that some characters might sacrifice themselves to save the train and humanity.
One such character is Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly). She is undoubtedly the most popular character on the show and people love watching her on the screen. In Episode 6 of Season 2, viewers saw Melanie saying goodbye to her daughter Alex once again and making a strenuous trek to the research station. Melanie got aware of some places where people can go and colonize once again. In order to save humanity from the harsh weather, she had to de-board the train and tackle the frozen outside world.

Many believe that she would return during the finale of the ongoing season. However, there are many who believe that Melanie could die while waiting for the train. A lot of fans were already dreading it beforehand and to everyone’s horror, their theories might get true in the upcoming two-hour finale.
Taking it to Twitter, one of the fans claimed that Melanie might die alone in the research station. The user believes that even if the train arrives for rescuing her, it might be too late for Melanie to survive the harsh weather with minimal resources. Meanwhile, another user claimed that Melanie would not be able to survive at the research station because there is not enough food available for her. The protagonist could save herself by doing extreme things, but it is not as easy as it sounds.
Meanwhile, another Redditor believed that seeing Melanie die will be catastrophic for the people of Snowpiercer and it would be too easy for Wilford to take control of the train. The user wrote, “I really hope Melanie survives the season, but I have a feeling Javi (the non-Ben engineer) might bite the dust. Melanie and/or Ben dying would be a catastrophe for Snowpiercer and pave the way for Wilford to easily take control of Snowpiercer.”
One Reddit user also said Melanie’s hallucinations in the sixth episode could come true and the Snowpiercer might just leave her out in the cold. In episode 6, Melanie hallucinates that she is very close to boarding the Snowpiercer, however, the train suddenly picks up the pace and rambled right on past her, with a distraught Alex bellowing to her mom from inside the rear window.
The aforementioned theories or guesses indirectly tells us how much people love Melanie and want to see her back. However, they are worried about her because the conditions are suitable for her at all. Let’s see what the makers decide to do in the finale.
