SHOCKING video shows savage raccoon attacking schoolgirl before her mom flings it across the lawn
CANTERBURY, CONNECTICUT: A horrifying moment has gone viral on Facebook showing a seemingly rabid raccoon pouncing on a little girl as she stood outside her home in Canterbury, Connecticut. The incident reportedly happened on Friday, December 2, at around 7.45 am in the morning when Rylee MacNamara was leaving for school.
The video of the episode which has reportedly been captured on CCTV and later shared on Facebook showed the animal grabbing the child’s foot as she desperately attempts to free herself from its clutch. Despite numerous attempts, Rylee was not able to shake the animal off. However, soon her mother Kelsey rushed to save her from the feral creature.

The woman managed to detach Rylee from the raccoon's hold and sent her inside the house before fighting off the animal, who was clinging onto her arm. Kelsey, however, did not give up and after several trials tossed the aggressive invader onto her lawn. For the initial few seconds, the raccoon appeared to be motionless before making its way away from the family’s home.
Later, Rylee’s parents posted about it on Facebook as they noted, “Per Rylee’s request ‘show everyone what the racoon did’ we are headed to get checked out for rabies following this unprovoked racoon attack. I can’t tell you how proud I am of this Brave girl!!” At the time of writing, the footage gained 18k views with tons of comments like, “Oh my gosh! Everyone ok?! What strength we get when our kids are involved! Don’t mess!” “So scary hope everyone is ok,” “HOLY SHIT!!!! DAMN GIRL! you're the shit! I hope you both are ok!” and “Holy shit guys!! I’m proud of both of you guys poor Rylee! You flung that thing 🤣.”
