A new mom from the US revealed that she was left with broken blood vessels in her face and eyes after giving birth in a TikTok video, which has gone viral. The video has made viewers understand certain side-effects of giving birth that they never knew before.

Yelena shared her experience in her TikTok account @yelenaa.x which garnered around 600K views. The new mom said in the video that she was shocked to see her reflection in the mirror after giving birth. Yelena, who decided to have a natural birth was left with broken blood vessels all around her face and in her eyes from the intense pushing.

Many viewers came out and praised the new mum for being so strong, one wrote: “Just learnt something new, terrified.” Another viewer commented: “Moms really are everything.” “The picture! This is why I love moms," said another. In one comment she wrote, “I was scared to look on the mirror the first couple days. I’ve never seen anything like that.” 

However, there were many who were shocked that something so scary could happen during childbirth while a few thanked Yelena for sharing her story as it helped them get a chance to learn something new.

One viewer asked: “Eyes? Is it something that can happen after birth?” Yelena explained how it happened in a video, she said: “Yep, it’s definitely something that can happen from the pushing, and it happened to me. I’m going to show you a picture but don’t get scared because it was really really bad.” She, however, says it was all worth it for her newborn baby.

Yelena said she was left with broken blood vessels across her face and in her eyes for around two weeks. Since the experience was new to her, she took to her Tiktok to let people know that such a thing can happen sometimes during natural childbirth.

She jokingly added: “So yeah I definitely didn’t get that cute hospital photo with my baby.”

The mum wrote in the comments that she also got broken blood vessels in her neck and that she was ‘so surprised I never knew this could happen.’
