Shocking moment Bronx woman and her daughters brutally attacked 'terrified' cashier days after argument
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A grocery store employee in the Bronx was mercilessly beaten by a woman and her two grown daughters. Lisbel Rodriguez Luna, 25, a cashier at the store, was beaten and left battered and bruised over an argument about recyclable bottles a week prior to the actual incident. The assault occurred at the Food Universe in Fordham Manor on Sunday, February 26. So far, no arrests have been made. Luna was clearly in shock about being punched multiple times and as such, is still apprehensive about returning to work because the assaulters are still free and may come back anytime. “No one ever attacked me like that,” Luna said about the attack.
However, her financial situation will not allow for her to take a day and recuperate from the assault. But “I have to come back,” she said. “I have to work. I need money. I need my job. I don’t know what else I can do," as per New York Post. The pained admission comes after surveillance footage of her being beaten up by the trio had been obtained by the news outlet. In the footage, Luna is seen being attacked as the other employees try to remove the attackers from her and stop the scuffle.

Why did the assault take place?
At present, Luna is recovering from her injuries and has opened up about the horrifying incident. She said that the attack was almost a week after she had been involved in a verbal altercation with the same woman, an argument about skipping the line to redeem tickets for cash in return for recyclable material. She claimed that the attack occurred over a week after she and the same woman got into a verbal fight over jumping the line to exchange tickets for cash in exchange for recyclable material.
“There were two other women on line and she came around and handed me the ticket and I asked her, I said, ‘Miss, is it your turn? Did she give you her turn?,’ I asked, pointing to the woman who was waiting in line,” Luna recalled as per New York Post.
“She said, ‘B***h, that’s not your business. You better just give me my money,'” Luna told The Post. “‘I’m going to kick your ass. I’m going to f*****g kill you. I’m going to bring my daughters and we’re all going to kick your ass!’ I took her ticket and gave her her money, about $15,” she said. “I was terrified.”
'There were five of them all together'
Jose Minaya, the manager of the store, had tried to quell the situation and nip it in the bud when the woman came on Sunday and waited outside the store. He took a scared Luna to a deli counter at the back to allow her to hide, in hopes that the attacker would lose patience and walk away. However, instead of leaving, the woman instead called for her daughters to join her, along with another older woman. They had “met up outside” and “immediately attacked” Luna.
“But the woman waited outside,” Minaya said Monday. “You can see her here in the video waiting outside, calling her daughters and then her daughters came. It was three daughters and another older woman, so there were five of them all together.”
