NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Police said that a man was stabbed at least eight times in Midtown, a short distance from the Times Square location where many people join in to welcome the new year. According to the NYPD, the violent incident took place at 11 am on Saturday, December 31, near Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street.

An NYPD spokeswoman told the New York Post that police has identified the victim as a male, who was 'uncooperative' and had eight stab wounds over his body. Other reports suggest the attacker who stabbed the man, looked younger and he fled from the scene right after the attack.
