HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: Shirley Faye Johnson, a Florida resident, was pronounced dead after being attacked by three aggressive dogs on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Johnson's body was discovered around 24 hours after she died, and medical examiners found that the attack left more than 100 bite marks on it.

The Florida woman, 69, was returning home from her son's house when three violent dogs ran across her path, according to WJHG. Her body was discovered by a bystander almost a full day after what is thought to have been an attack on August 14.

Sheriff John Tate declared that dog bites were the cause of her death, according to the medical examiner's office. Reports declared that the three suspected dogs have already been euthanized. The victim's neighbors told the local media that the dogs' attitude frequently included aggressive behavior.

The sheriff informed that no charges were pending against the dogs’ owner as there wasn't any physical evidence tying the dogs to Johnson’s death. Johnson's passing was announced in an obituary by the Peel Funeral Home. She died just a few days before her 70th birthday, which would have been on October 16.

"Shirley is survived by three sons, Jerry Johnson, Jody Johnson, and Michael Johnson and wife Jane all of Bonifay, FL; three grandchildren, Johnathan, Dalton, and Caleb; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family," a statement from the funeral home read. Johnson had a graveside funeral on August 18 at the Stevenson Cemetery, according to the obituary.

On August 15, the day after Johnson's assault, Mindy Nelson Kiepe was killed by her five Great Dane dogs in northwest Iowa. The body of Kiepe, the 43-year-old victim, was discovered in a ditch close to Rossie in Clay County.

When a guy first discovered her body, he believed she had been in a motorbike accident, according to KTIV-TV. Sadly, the man was unable to approach Kiepe's body since the big dogs were still running around in the area, the outlet claimed. When police got on the scene in Iowa, near the intersection of 450th Street and 200th Avenue, the woman's body had several dog bites.

Kiepe's body was sent to be examined by a doctor at the Iowa State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. On Wednesday, August 17, the state medical examiner declared that multiple dog bite wounds were the cause of Kiepe's demise. Her five Great Dane dogs, one of the biggest dog breeds in the world, were killed humanely.
