Discovery Channel's Shark Week programming is now in its 32nd edition — the special series of programs on sharks is a big viewer honeytrap for the network and Shark Week has often been called Discovery's "Superbowl." This year's programming also features several celebrities and the latest celebrity to take a bite is rapper extraordinaire, Snoop Dogg.

Snoop spent the latest Shark Week special, 'Sharkadelic Summer', looking at the Great White Sharks that are taking up residence along America's shores. He also observed shark encounters on tape and reacted to their unpredictable actions -- something that might be familiar to fans of the rapper who know of his 'Plizzanet Earth' sketches for ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', in which he reacted -- possibly under the influence -- to clips from 'Planet Earth'.

As experts gave their opinions on the rising number of great white shark populations across the east and west coasts of the United States, Snoop gave a running commentary on some of the experts' statements as well as amateur videos of shark-spotting. Some of them featured hilarious quips like, "Hey lady, you're scaring the shark. Shut up," or "Apparently when people see a shark for the first time they say HOLY SHARK." Perhaps, there isn't a better way to get information on sharks and raise awareness than have Snoop narrate -- we also appreciate that he seems to focus more on the foolishness of the humans in shark-infested waters than on the aggression of the sharks.

With Snoop's latest turn as a shark enthusiast and narrator -- maybe even giving Sir David Attenborough some serious competition -- viewers have agreed that Discovery Channel should bring the rapper back on a yearly basis for their Shark Week specials. One fan tweeted, "'That's a no for Snoop.' #SharkWeek this is the most amazing thing ever, @SnoopDogg needs to come back for one of these every year! Please tho..." Another opined, "Guys...@SnoopDogg is commenting this episode on @SharkWeek and has me loving life. This is fantastic!!!"

A fan shared, "Omg Snoop Dogg narrating #SharkWeek is the best thing the discovery channel has ever done," while another wrote, "Can @SnoopDogg narrate every #SharkWeek episode from now until forever?!?! Literally the BEST commentary. @SharkWeek." A viewer opined, "This special appears to be a weird trip through @SnoopDogg’s head but I’m kind of ok with it. He’s a better narrator than most #SharkWeek shows. #SharkadelicSummer."

'Sharkadelic Summer' aired on Discovery Channel on August 13 at 9/8c. A repeat presentation will air on August 14 at 1 am ET.
