Shannon Epstein: Chris Christie's niece kicked off flight after accusing family of 'smuggling cocaine'
JEFFERSON PARISH, LOUISIANA: Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie's niece Shannon Epstein, 25, was arrested and kicked off an airplane after she allegedly accused a family of "smuggling cocaine". She allegedly turned violent on a Spirit Airlines aircraft from New Orleans to New Jersey, injuring six sheriff's deputies, one of who was bitten during the confrontation.
In order to get Epstein off the plane, seven sheriff's deputies had to shackle her to a wheelchair. “She even threatened the officers trying to get her off the plane, saying her uncle is friends with former President Donald Trump and she knows some powerful people,” Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Captain Jason Rivarde told NOLA. She is currently facing charges for six counts of battery on a police officer, three counts of disturbing the peace, one act of forcefully resisting arrest and one offense of staying in a place where she was not supposed to. On Thanksgiving Day, the foul-mouthed niece was freed from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Facility after paying a $10,750 bail. The next court date for her is scheduled on January 23.

Rivarde claims that Epstein's disruptive behavior on the Thanksgiving Day trip which included asking a family that appeared to be Latino whether they were "smuggling cocaine" is what ignited the whole ordeal. After the plane departed the gate at Louis Armstrong International Airport, airline staff quickly decided to remove her from the aircraft but she allegedly resisted after it touched down on the tarmac. Epstein allegedly turned violent after being approached by Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies, injuring six people while attempting to elude capture, including biting one person in the arm and tearing their skin. During her outrage, Epstein was heard linking herself to influential people as he threatened the on boarders and staff of the airline.
According to NOLA, the woman allegedly hit some individuals in the crotch and spat on others while yelling at them that they would lose their jobs or go to jail because her uncle is close with the previous president Donald Trump and she knows some influential people. Seven additional deputies worked to handcuff Epstein to a wheelchair in order to force her off while the injured deputies received first aid on the spot. Rivarde claimed that as she was being wheeled away, she continued to yell foul language and attempted to bite more deputies.
