Shadowhunters fan on #SaveShadowhunters : There are things worth fighting for, even if you cannot win

'Shadowhunters' was the first show in which Akuro saw healthy LGBT relations and an asexual character.

I first started watching 'Shadowhunters' a year ago when I was looking for something unusual to watch. I live in Russia and it's always hard to find something which is not mainstream, because our channels buy only that kind of stuff. From time to time mainstream is good, but in the other cases it's just threadbare plot and presentation of unhealthy thoughts in society. You know, for example, I like 'Criminal Minds' because the plot is fantastic: criminal psycologists help victims, find bad guys with the help of their sharp mind. But there is NO possibility to watch it on TV. What I could watch on TV were soap operas (phew). So, when I want to watch something, I use Google and European sites.

Incidentally, the film 'The Mortal Instruments' led me to the show. I had already seen the film and people told me there was a show worth watching. So, I tried and was literally blown away. In the country I live there is so much hatred toward my gay friends and others who are different. It was, and it still is so important to find an example of other feelings. It had become much more important to me since I realised that I'm asexual. We had no example of that at all. So, I started to watch shows and films from other countries, but all of them contented difficult times for LGBT couples and in many cases thet met with a bad ending.
