UPDATE: Serena Pitt had a change of heart about Matt James after speaking to her parents and sister who reminded her that she was sure about the last guy she had dated and the end of that relationship messed with her head. She dumped Matt, saying, "I don't think you are my person. I am just not there yet."

'The Bachelor's historic season 25 is inching toward its finale. The show premiered on January 4, 2021, and on the episode airing on March 15, the franchise's first Black Bachelor, Matt James from New York, will be seen choosing the one person he would like to spend the rest of his life with. But before that happens, Bachelor Nation fans still have a couple more episodes to navigate through, one of them being the hometown dates which will be a part of Monday's (February 22) episode.

The pandemic has changed the way the franchise used to film the hometown dates. Instead of the whole crew flying down to different states to meet the family, things are taking place the other way round. Parents and siblings of the top four contestants: Michelle Young, Bri Springs, Rachael Kirkconnell, and Serena Pitt will be seen at the Nemacolin resorts grilling Matt James and deciding if he'd be the right pick for their family.

As seen in the trailer above, Matt is introduced to the family of all his top four women. However, like is tradition on this show and its many spinoffs, the family members try to be a voice of reason for the suitresses who can sometimes be blinded by their love for the Bachelor/Bachelorette. All four women, as seen in the trailer, are given a reality check by their close ones and are asked to reflect on the reality of the situation and to determine if they're truly ready to be engaged to someone who they've known for just a couple of months.

Even though all the top 4 women have their own doubts, from the trailer it looks like it's Serena Pitt who self-eliminates herself. Her sister opines that Serena doesn't seem "smitten" by Matt James and there is some truth to it considering the fact that Serena herself has once said that she was "falling in like" and not "in love" with Matt. In the above trailer, Serena was seen wiping away tears before she was heard saying in a voiceover, “I’ve had this pit in my stomach.” In another trailer, Matt James had hinted at one of his top 4 women revealing that they didn't want to be his wife, and all the signs point towards the 22-year-old Serena who seems to have taken herself out of the competition, but this can only be confirmed once the episode airs.
