'Season 4 just got interesting': Fans react to Jodie Turner-Smith joining cast of 'Sex Education'

LONDON, UK: Jodie Turner-Smith has stated that she has joined the cast of the popular Netflix series 'Sex Education' in a bombshell announcement that has fans even more pumped for the show's upcoming Season 4. Turner-Smith also said that viewers have 'Sex Education' star Ncuti Gatwa to thank for her casting.

She shared that she was personally contacted by the veteran actor from the Netflix show, who has been one of the leads since Season 1. When Gatwa asked her to star on the show, she was happy to oblige. "First of all, all my scenes were with Ncuti Gatwa who – I DIE for him – and he’s my favorite character on the show. So when he called me and asked me to do it I was like, I don’t care how much they’re paying I’m doing [it].” Turner-Smith dropped the bombshell announcement about starring in 'Sex Education' Season 4 on the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards on February 19, according to Variety.

What is 'Sex Education' Season 4 going to be about?

After Moordale's sale and closure at the conclusion of Season 3, Season 4 will pick up in the aftermath. It will follow Otis, Eric, and the others as they enroll in Cavendish Sixth Form College, a new institution. They discover there just how dissimilar Moordale and Cavendish are as Maeve also starts her new program in the United States, which is a whole other type of culture shock. Finally, another running plot thread for Season 4 is Jean and Otis getting used to life with a new baby.

What character Turner-Smith will play is still unknown at this time. Given that she appears in Gatwa's scenes, it's possible that viewers in the UK, Ghana, or Nigeria will see her as a member of Eric's (Gatwa) family whom they haven't yet met.

After the announcement of Turner-Smith joining the cast of 'Sex Education', fans have been more than excited for the premiere of the upcoming season. "This season just got interesting", said one fan. The excitement seems to be increasing when another viewer commented "Damn, you guys want to make me watch this after I dropped it after season 2. Because I love Jodie, I'll just see episode 1 of season 4." Fans already seem to be forming theories about her upcoming role in the show.
