'SEAL Team' season 3: Release date, plot, cast, and everything you need to know about the CBS military drama

The premiere for the new season of 'SEAL Team' takes the Bravo team to Serbia for a mission to track down an organization linked to the bombing of multiple American military outposts.
PUBLISHED SEP 17, 2019

CBS military drama 'SEAL Team' is all set to get a third season with life-and-death situations for Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) and his team. The premiere for the new season takes them to Serbia for a mission to track down an organization linked to the bombing of multiple American military outposts.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Boreanaz revealed the third season will focus more on the team's identity and their personal relationships. "All these characters go through something on the Bravo team and at the end, they come to this realization of what's next for them, and I will say that Jason Hayes has a lot to talk about, but he’s not too good about it, so I think that’s going to be surprising for them."

"We identify them and see what their lives are like, new relationships, identifying past stories with where they come from, looking at their adversities they have to overcome, whether that’s in the political spectrum of Washington and someone becoming an admiral or maybe not. Losing rank, losing power — all very character-driven stuff, and I hint at new relationships because I think we will see that, but it will take a little time. Maybe a good love story," he added.

Release date

The series was renewed for a third season, which is all set to premiere on October 2, 2019, on CBS.

Plot

The military drama follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them. A respected leader, Jason Hayes heads the Tier One team after sacrificing his personal life. The team includes his trusted confidant, Ray Perry, Sonny Quinn, an exceptional, loyal soldier with a checkered past and Clay Spenser, a young, multilingual, second-generation SEAL with insatiable drive and dedication.

"Deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice, and knowing the toll it takes on them and their families, this tight-knit SEAL team displays unwavering patriotism and fearless dedication even in the face of overwhelming odds," the official summary reads.
