Similar incident
In a similar incident, a 21-year-old woman locked herself and her young sons inside the Lidl toilet after a man allegedly sexually assaulted her on the streets in October 2022. The young mother identified as Megan Hollimould was walking down the road with her two sons, aged one and three when a man ‘stopped her in her tracks’ and asked her for a hug.
The mother swiftly rejected the strange man’s advances, saying she was not a "huggy person" and told him, "Sorry, I’ve got to go." But, Megam claims, the man followed her as she attempted to head towards a Lidl store in Grimsby. "He kept asking me for a hug or a kiss and just got more and more agitated," said the mother, according to Metro. "Then he started touching my chest, bum, and hips. I told him to please not touch me and with that, he started grabbing hold of the pushchair. It was awful. This happened continuously until we got to Lidl. People were just driving past and watching."
Megan said that once the family arrived at Lidl, she locked the boys and herself in a bathroom cubicle while the man reportedly beat on the door attempting to get inside. The mother somehow managed to call her friend, who informed the local police about the ordeal. The 26-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
