Will Sarah Sanders become Arkansas governor? Former Donald Trump press secy dubbed 'repulsive MAGA propagandist'
Republican Sarah Sanders, a former White House Press Secretary, will reportedly run for Arkansas governor. An anonymous senior campaign official has stated that Sanders, who left the White House in 2019, has returned to her home state and plans to announce her bid on January 25, 2021. Following the news that Donald Trump’s ardent supporter will run for office, several political experts took to Twitter to show their disdain for the news.
As per the Associated Press, Sanders will announce on video about her intention to seek the Republican nomination for the November 2022 election. If Sanders gets a nomination, she will replace the current governor, Republican Asa Hutchinson, who won’t run for the third term.
Reaction to Sarah Sanders running for governor
Ever since it was announced that Sanders would be announcing that she is running for governor of Arkansas, several political experts have taken to social media to discuss the possibilities of her getting a nomination. One user wrote, “The scary thing about Sarah Sanders running for Governor of Arkansas is that she can actually win because Arkansas.”
Don Winslow, the acclaimed author ‘The Cartel,’ tweeted, “[Sarah Sanders] is a horrible person from a horrible family of serial liars. And I’m not even getting into her brother beating, torturing and killing a dog (fact) and her father covering it up (also a fact). The idea that this person would run for any office is a F joke.” Charlotte Clymer, a famous Army Vet., tweeted, “If someone can explain to me how supposed ‘cancel culture’ allows Sarah Sanders to run for Governor of Arkansas with a shot of winning after a disastrous tenure as White House Press Secretary defending horrific policies and constantly lying to the press, I’d love to hear it.” Another wrote, "Repulsive MAGA propagandist Sarah Huckabee Sanders is going run for Governor of Arkansas, a state that has GOP Seditionist Tom Cotton representing them even though he ran on stolen valor. Arkansas, that’s pretty gross. Can’t you do any better than that?"

Sanders used her platform as Press Secretary to tell hundreds of lies to the American people, to direct violence towards the press, and to send a mob after a small business (the Red Hen).
Sarah Sanders's political stint
Sanders first got involved in American politics through her father’s campaign for the United States Senate in 1992. After the unsuccessful bid, she participated as the field coordinator for his 2002 reelection campaign for Arkansas governor. Under former President George W. Bush’s administration, she served as a regional liaison for congressional affairs at the US Department of Education. She later managed John Boozman’s 2010 campaign and served as an adviser to Tom Cotton’s 2014 election. Sanders signed on as a senior adviser for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, where she handled Trump’s communication for coalitions.
After Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America, Sanders was named to the position of deputy White House press secretary. She held her first White House press briefing in 2017, where she stood with Press Secretary Sean Spicer. After Spicer announced that he would resign, White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci revealed that Sanders would take the role of White House press secretary.
Despite the media criticism, Sanders maintained a good relationship with many White House reporters. Trump tweeted in 2019 that Sanders would be leaving her role as press secretary, adding that he hoped she would decide to run for governor. Speaking to reporters from her office back then, Sanders did not rule out a run for governor, while saying, “I learned a long time ago never to rule anything out.”
After she departed from the White House and the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol, Forbes warned corporations against hiring Sanders and other Trump propagandists, stating that “Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie.”
