'Pound, pound, pound': Sarah Palin trolled for saying AOC and Democrats 'obsessed' with sex

'All those things that have to do with privacy and sex—the liberals, not the conservatives, are the ones who pound, pound, pound after that,' Palin said in an interview

Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin reacted to Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) quip about the “sexual frustrations” of her Republican colleagues after she was criticized for enjoying a maskless outing with her boyfriend in Florida as Covid cases in her own state skyrocketed. 

“It amazes me though, [Ocasio-Cortez] and other liberals—socialists, even—their ability to deflect from what the issues truly are and [to] hear her obsession [with]—or at least suggestion of—always gender, and sex even," Palin said while talking to Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy on Monday, January 10. “Look how the liberals, Rachel, want to pound that into the public’s head: advertising who is attracted to who. What people do in… the privacy of their own bedrooms. All those things that have to do with privacy and sex—the liberals, not the conservatives, are the ones who pound, pound, pound after that. And obviously it’s a tactic so that she doesn’t have to be held accountable.”

In response to a tweet from former Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes that criticized her boyfriend’s socks in a picture of her outing that has gone viral, AOC tweeted: "If Republicans are mad they can't date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend's feet. Ya creepy weirdos. It's starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won't do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It's really weird."

'Poor Sarah, divorced, no boyfriend?'

However, most of the people on the internet took AOC's side and condemned Palin's comments, saying that she was projecting her own sexual frustration while doing so. "I am sorry, but AOC did not get preggo as a young girl. She went to college and became a Congresswoman," one of them said, while another noted, "I’m old enough to remember when Sarah Palin said you just needed your teens to take a celibacy pledge to keep them from having *premartial sex* just before we found out her then teenage daughter, Bristol, was…pregnant. That worked out really well for her, didn’t it?" A third commented, "Sounds like @SarahPalinUSA want to 'pound, pound, pound' subconsciously." The next remarked, "I follow AOC & that’s BS!! AOC is an intelligent woman with Integrity!! I’m happy She’s a member of Congress. We All are so much better by Her work in Congress!!"

One more quipped, "Poor Sarah, divorced, no boyfriend? Sad." Another commented, "It sounds like Sarah is having some personal sex issues @ home. Maybe there's a battery shortage in Alaska & this is a cry for help to send her D sized batteries?!" A commenter tweeted, "...sounds like the type that hasn't had it in years... then will whine and complain about it when she finally does!" Another quipped, "Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it. --Honore de Balzac" A person reacted with, "Sounds like Sarah Palin sex life is on life support." Another added, "The dating scene for 55+ in AK is rough especially in Jan...give ol' Sarah a break and maybe the number of your single pals."
