Spoilers for 'Roswell, New Mexico' Season 2 Episode 5 'I'll Stand By You'

If you watched today's episode of Roswell New Mexico and didn't cry, we don't know what to say. As the show dove deeper into the personality that is Michael Guerin (Michael Vlamis), we saw sibling love take a life of its own when we see  Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) and Kyle Valenti (Michael Trevino) perform alien heart surgery on Max Evans (Nathan Parsons) using Noah Bracken's (Karan Oberoi) heart.

After Isobel Evans (Lily Cowles) gets into Rosa Ortecho's (Amber Midthunder) nightmare featuring Max, we see how desperately Max doesn't want to come back. After bringing back Rosa, he had absorbed so much dark energy that he's afraid he'd hurt his loved ones if he's brought back. Of course, Liz, the love of his life and his sister Isobel don't want to give up on him and using an alien pacemaker courtesy of the brilliant and distant Michael, they perform the surgery on Max.

Yes, they brought him back and put him into a medically induced coma, but to get there, we all lost Max for a bit. After the insertion of the pacemaker, Max flatlined and the defibrillator wasn't strong enough to bring him back. Rosa's power eventually did help Max but that scene was so emotional because not only do we see Liz breakdown but Michael completely loses his sh**. "That speech Michael gave to Max was beautiful. Max was the only person who never gave up on him  #RoswellNM," tweeted a fan. That's a lot coming from the guy that told Max, "I don't need you."

"Max flat-lining on the OR table and everyone breaking down is going to stay with me for a while #RoswellNM," tweeted a fan while another tweeted, "The way Liz Ortecho sobs over Max Evans’ flatline makes me want to die and I can’t even explain it #RoswellNM."

The sibling angst and love in this episode, all leading to the Max scene was overwhelming for sure. "Rosa in big sister mode is sweet. She knew it would break Liz’s heart if he died so she broke her promise to Max and helped bring him back....on top of comforting a helpless Liz at the end. #RoswellNM," tweeted another fan. Knowing his sister and lover won't let him die, Max had begged Rosa to make sure the surgery didn't happen but Rosa couldn't see her sister Liz die on the inside and ended up saving the day.

On the whole, Michael realizing the family he has in Max had everyone in ultimate tears. "I’ll scream about Max being back in a moment, but can we focus on the incredible, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, vulnerable pain Michael exhibits in this ep. wow. @MichaelVlamis killed it. Absolutely killed it. #RoswellNM," tweeted another fan.

'Roswell, New Mexico' Season 2 airs on Monday nights on The CW at 9/8c.
