Rossie Dennis: Texas woman arrested after allegedly pointing gun at 6-month-old baby
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: Texans understand how difficult it is to find a good parking spot at an H-E-B store, but one Corpus Christi woman went to extreme lengths to secure one, police said. Rossie Dennis, 60, was arrested on Tuesday, November 30, after a video surfaced online of her brandishing a gun in an H-E-B parking lot in Corpus Christi. She was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after cops identified her as the person captured on a viral cellphone video pointing a handgun at a woman during a dispute over a parking spot at the grocery store.

According to Law & Crime, the dispute between Dennis and the unidentified woman in the car stemmed from a dispute over a parking spot at H-E-B, which is a Texas-based grocery store chain. Screenshots from a cellphone video reportedly went viral on social media, with one Reddit post identifying the incident as having taken place at an H-E-B in Corpus Christi’s Annaville neighborhood. “A Woman pulls and points a gun at a woman with her 6-month-old baby in the car because she believed she parked in her parking spot,” read the thread's title.
The reports were later confirmed by the Corpus Christi Police Department, which noted in a statement that a warrant issued for Dennis's arrest “stem[med] from an incident that occurred at approximately 12:21 pm on November 24, 2021, where officers were dispatched to the 11,100 block of Leopard for a disturbance in progress.” The warrant was referring to the H-E-B store located at 11,100 Leopard Street in Corpus Christi. “Upon arrival, officers were advised that a disturbance occurred in the parking lot over a parking space,” the CCPD statement continued. “The offender pointed a handgun at the victims and made a threat to shoot them. Officers were able to identify the female from video captured by one of the victims.”
Authorities did not identify the names or ages of the victims, nor did they confirm that a “6-month-old baby,” as described in the Reddit post, was in the car. Police only noted that there were multiple "victims" at whom Dennis is said to have pointed her gun. Investigators were able to identify Dennis from the victim's cellphone video and subsequently obtained a warrant to arrest her for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, San Antonio Express-News reported. Meanwhile, local CBS affiliate KIII-TV reported that Dennis was taken to the City Detention Center for processing following her Tuesday arrest. Her bond has been set for $50,000, per the outlet.
