Donald Trump's former White House doctor Ronny Jackson has called on President Joe Biden to take a cognitive test. Jackson, along with 13 Republicans, has signed a public letter to the White House, expressing concerns over Biden's "current cognitive state". Twitter was quick to jump on Jackson and slam him for questioning Biden, especially after he defended Trump during his time in the White House.

Jackson, who currently serves as a Representative from Texas has been repeatedly questioning Biden's fitness for office. In March, Jackson tweeted "The way Biden is hiding from the public is a MAJOR red flag. Something’s not right!" He also came under immense pressure for saying Biden "doesn’t have the cognitive resources or the physical stamina," in December 2020. Jackson has also routinely been targeted for supporting Trump and even giving him a clean bill of health When Trump was considered obese by government guidelines.

Now, Jackson has resumed his attacks on Biden, even after being elected to Congress. The letter was signed by other GOP members like Tom Tiffany (R-WI), Bob Gibbs (R-OH), Andy Harris (R-MD), and others.

Jackson says Biden should 'follow President Trump'

The letter to the White House says Biden "should follow the precedent set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities." Jackson says Biden should take a cognitive test "immediately" and publish the results "to set an example for all Presidents to follow". Jackson also recounts instances from the campaign trail on the topic, where Biden said he was "very willing to let the American public judge my physical and mental" health.

Jackson also refers to the cognitive test that Trump controversially took. According to Jackson, Trump "excelled" at the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. The former president often drew concerns about his health while in the White House, especially during his impeachment. Famously, in July 2020, Trump claimed he "aced" a cognitive test at Walter Reed. He was also widely trolled for his gaffes, which many on social media took as a sign that Trump was mentally unfit for office.

Jackson now wants to hold Biden to that same standard, highlighting several of Biden's gaffes including the time he forgot the name of the Pentagon and Defense Secretary. He also notes that Biden forgot the first line of the declaration of independence during a rally in Texas in 2020. Jackson concludes the letter by noting Rep Jamie Raskin's legislation to create an independent commission to evaluate the President's fitness for office. "We agree with the statements put forth by Representative Raskin," Jackson says.

The letter was also CC'd to Biden's physician Kevin O'Connor and Anthony Fauci, who also serves as Biden's Chief Medical Advisor. In the past, Biden has slammed the need to take a cognitive test. He has never expressed any enthusiasm for the idea and has remained silent while being repeatedly trolled for his numerous gaffes. So it seems likely that taking a cognitive test will not be on his agenda anytime soon.

Shortly after it was made public Twitter was quick to troll Jackson, considering in March 2021, Jackson came under immense fire for reportedly consuming drugs and alcohol while on the job and also for making "sexual and denigrating” comments about female subordinates.

Twitter says Jackson 'needs to be committed'

One person trolled, "Does Ronny Jackson just want to ensure that Biden is able to say “person, woman, man, camera, tv?”," a reference to Trump's famous line about his test. Another said, " "I want that Doctor to take a lie detector test"." Another said,"I call on Ronny Jackson to undergo a sobriety and drug test," after Jackson tweeted how "When I was Physician to President Trump, the media relentlessly pushed a narrative that he needed a cognitive test. I administered the test and he excelled!"

"It still makes me shudder in my spirit that Ronny Jackson was ever allowed anywhere near President Obama," Joy-Anne Reid tweeted. Another user said, "Ronny jackson once proclaimed that Trump had “Absolutely no Cognitive or mental issues.” So it’s fair to say his judgement is a touch impaired."

One person said, "Ronny Jackson needs to be committed." Another slammed him, "Ronny Jackson is a drunken disgrace to the Republic."
