In the midst of Russia's invasion of Ukraine this week, the 27-year-old Instagram star posted a meme condemning Putin. The word "Russia" has been crossed out and substituted with "Putin" in the line "Russia wants a war with Ukraine."

"The biggest and most successful lie of Kremlin's propaganda is that most Russians stand with Putin," the message featured. The image of Russian President Vladimir Putin is then crossed out. It comes after her father made an incredible remark, officially distancing himself from Chelsea.
Sofia joins a growing list of high-profile Russians, notably sports players, who have spoken out against their country's invasion of Ukraine. Fedor Smolov, a 45-cap international, is the most high-profile footballer to criticize Putin so far. "No war!!!" Fedor wrote before adding the Ukrainian flag and a broken heart emoji.

Sofia Abramovich was born to Russian stewardess Irina Vyacheslavovna Malandina and Roman Abramovich. Her parents were married in 1991 and divorced in 2007. She remained with her mother following her parents' divorce.
