Rod Stewart posts sweet family photo with wife Penny and six of his children in front of Christmas tree
ESSEX, UNITED KINGDOM: Singer-songwriter Rod Stewart seems to have had a very Merry Christmas! The ‘I Don’t Want To Talk About It’ hitmaker posted a happy photo of him posing with his wife of fifteen years, Penny Lancaster, and six of his eight children. Stewart is not someone who shares much of his life on social media, so the rare family photo has put a smile on his fans’ faces.
The photo had him and his family posing cheerfully in front of a fully decked up Christmas tree, with the lights of the tree illuminating all of their faces. Stewart, 77, was flanked in the photo by sons Aidan, 11 and Alastair, 17, the two sons he shares with wife Penny. His older children, from previous partners — Renee, 30, Ruby, 35, Sean, 42 and Kimberly, 43 — were also present. Also included in the photo were Ruby’s partner Jake and Kimberly’s daughter Delilah, 11.

However, there were two notable absences — his daughter Sarah, 58, and son Liam (by ex-wife Rachel Hunter) were not in the photo. This family gathering comes a little after Stewart had revealed that his youngest Aidan had a severe health scare where he went “blue and unconscious” while playing on the Young Hoops Under-12 team. According to People, Stewart reportedly said, "We thought my boy had a heart attack. He was going blue and was unconscious until he calmed down. It was scary, but it turned out to be a panic attack."
Stewart has often opened up about his parenting journey and how he manages to raise his children who are all in different age groups. "I have to be several different fathers because of the different age groups of my kids," explained Stewart. "You really have to treat all of them as individuals with individual problems."
The singer went on to speak about how he deals with his teenage children, "For instance, my 15-year-old is dating girls, so I had to give him a sex lesson. I just told him what he should and shouldn't do, but he's on top of it. He was like, 'Dad, I've got the internet. I know everything.'" He added, "All the [older] kids went through their little bad period of drinking too much and dabbling in drugs — except for Liam; I don't think he ever did — but they all came out on the other side. As a dad, I've learned to listen and not blow my top."
