When HGTV's award-winning realtor Egypt Sherrod first met professional DJ Mike Jackson, neither of them guessed they'd be each other's partners. Sherrod never even thought about going on a date with him, in the first place. She told The List in an interview, "At that time, I didn't date in entertainment".

Before the lovers entered the world of HGTV shows, both Egypt and Mike had thriving careers in the entertainment industry; she was in broadcasting while he was a DJ. However, Sherrod was quick to discover that their respective passions for real estate and building could spark something in the long run. Who knew her gut feeling would win her a husband as well?

In addition to the various accolades in her name, Egypt is also the founder of The Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group. Her passion for major estate markets motivated her to make the switch from her successful 20-year radio broadcasting career. Luckily, it was also during this chapter that she'd meet the love of her life and the father of her kids.

Since the two met, the former DJ has also taken on the mission to make good use of his passion for home renovation; today, he is a professional builder. Indeed, the two seem to complete each other in every imaginable way.

What's more, Mike too owns a business. He is the founder of a construction company called Jackson Draper Renovations. The star couple work together to help clients find the perfect house and renovate them into their dream homes. If this isn't a match made in heaven, what is?

While the work partners have their respective businesses to run, they are just about to merge into a one-stop shop. How convenient!

According to Egypt, what makes their business stand a class apart is they follow the basic principles in both marketing and customer relations. Hence the brilliant idea of merging. She also says that the very concept is deeply rooted in a personal touch, which is a rarity these days.

Aside from competing on Season 3 of 'Rock the Block', Egypt and Mike are focusing on the preparations for the merger. Viewers will get a better idea of their massive business upgrade on Season 2 of their HGTV show, 'Married To Real Estate'.

Season 3 of 'Rock the Block' premieres on February 28, 2022 on HGTV.
