Robert Cota: Florida man, 31, held for 1,200 counts of child sexual assault and incest

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA: A 31-year-old Florida man has been charged with 1,200 counts of sexual assault and incest involving a minor. Pensacola's Robert Cota has been charged with 600 counts of sexual assault on a victim between the ages of 12 and 18. He has also been charged with 600 counts of incest that allegedly took place over the past six years.
Cota was turned in by a local pastor after he had approached him and said that he “had issues with one of the beliefs” outlined in the church guideline book, specifically referring to the word “incest", arresting documents obtained by WEAR-TV said. Further conversation prompted the pastor to tell Cota that he needed to report himself to authorities. Later, the pastor himself provided Cota’s information to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The shocking arrest report says that the victim told authorities she had sexual encounters with Cota since she was as young as seven years old, after Cota explained to her that sexual acts are a way of showing affection. The arrest report further says that in September 2020, when the victim's mother confronted Cota about her daughter, he pointed a gun at the girl. While authorities launched an investigation into the sexual assault and incest allegations, Cota was arrested for aggravated assault and domestic violence.
Both the victim and Cota told the mother about the sexual relationship, before taking their statements back after the incident. Cota told police while being arrested for sexual assault and incest that the accusations did not surprise him. He has been booked at the Escambia County Jail and his bond has been set at $3,000,000.
In another recent incident, a California man impregnated both his girlfriend and her daughter. The latter is 13 years old and the pregnancy is a result of the sexual assault the minor had been enduring for the past two years. The incident came to light after the girl went missing and authorities were alerted. She was picked up from an apartment by emergency services and an investigation revealed she was 4.5 months pregnant. The girl then detailed her ordeal during which she also revealed that her mom's boyfriend, Eduardo G Rubio allegedly tried to run her over.
Rubio was dating the victim's mother for the past four years but she did not have an inkling that he was assaulting her daughter. Rubio reportedly tried to tamper with a pregnancy test the girl was given during a medical examination in October, using his own urine. He was aware of the girl's pregnancy and the charges he faces include statutory rape, attempted first-degree murder, attempted murder of an unborn child, first-degree kidnapping, and three counts of assault by strangulation, according to arrest records.
