WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday, November 9, 2023, filed a motion calling for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, reported The Washington Post, which also stated, “Impeaching a Cabinet secretary is rare.”

Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, where she talked about more about how she “filed privileged Articles of Impeachment on Secretary Mayorkas.”

This comes after her censure resolution against Democratic Rep Rashida Tlaib and her amendment to reduce Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s salary to $1. Greene’s move against Mayorkas has faced some backlash on social media.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says ‘it’s time to impeach Mayorkas’

On X, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene shed more light on her call to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. She wrote, “BREAKING: I just filed privileged Articles of Impeachment on Secretary Mayorkas.”

She added, “Yesterday, two Americans from my district in Dalton, GA were killed in a high-speed head-on collision at the hands of human traffickers smuggling illegal aliens into this country. They had 5 kids who will never get to say goodbye.”

“The utter disregard for American life displayed by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas can no longer be ignored. The time for more hearings and phases is over. Americans are getting murdered just traveling to see their families,” continued Greene.

The Rep also wrote, “Lives have been lost forever. Everyone should care. This is not a political issue. That’s why I just introduced privileged Articles to IMPEACH Secretary Mayorkas.”

In a later post on X, Greene expressed her frustration against the Biden administration and wrote, “Too many Americans, including constituents from my district, have been tragically killed due to the violations of border law by the Biden administration. It’s time for Congress to act. It’s time to IMPEACH Mayorkas.”

Greene further wrote, “Too many Americans have been killed due to Biden’s border invasion. We need action. Congress needs to IMPEACH Mayorkas!”

Internet slams Marjorie Taylor Greene for her call to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas

As Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene continued to call for Alejandro Mayorkas' impeachment, the internet was quick to respond to her “breaking” news and slammed her for wasting taxpayers' money. 

One social media user wrote, “Wasting more time with political theater. You can impeach him all day long. The Senate won't and he'll just go right back to work,” while another said, “You’re a waste of space and taxpayer dollars.”

“If you were serious you’d offer real solutions on not just useless attention-getting nonsense,” added one user, while another wrote, “I watched. I laughed. You are a joke.”

Greene continued to face backlash on the social media platform as one user wrote, “Can you even do REAL work?  You know about the Budget right?”

Another said, “The amount of time and money you waste is reprehensible. An absolute derelict of duty and you deserve to be expelled.”
