BALTIMORE, MARYLAND: A Michigan mother who lost her two sons to fentanyl poisoning vented her anger at President Joe Biden for not showing compassion. "How dare you?" said the mother after Biden laughed off the claim that his policies could be responsible for their deaths. In 2020, Rebecca Kiessling's sons died after taking painkillers laced with fentanyl. The unfortunate incident occurred 6 months before Biden was sworn in as President.

Earlier this week, Kiessling testified before Congress at a hearing on the growing fentanyl crisis. During the hearing, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene suggested that the boys would still be alive if "the government secured the border. " However, Biden responded to Greene by telling a hall full of chuckling Democrats at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference, "A little bit more Marjorie Taylor Greene, and we're going to have a lot of Republicans running our way. Isn't she amazing? Ooft. She was very specific recently saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons." But what provoked Kiessling was when Biden added, "The interesting thing is the fentanyl they took came during the last administration, haha."

'You mock the loss of my sons?'

"This is how you speak about the death of my sons?" fumed Kiessling questioned Biden on a video posted online on Wednesday, March 1. "Because a congresswoman misspoke? You mock the loss of my sons?" she said. "How dare you. What is the matter with you. Almost every Democrat on the committee offered condolences, they at least had the decency to do that. You can't even do that? You have to mock my pain?" reported Daily Mail. She also highlighted the rise in fentanyl deaths across the country since Biden took office saying, "My children died about six months before he became president."

"There have been failed policies by many administrations for far too long, ever since there was a surge in drug deaths due to fentanyl. This has been a problem for a long time. [But] what about the 22 per cent increase in fentanyl deaths since you became president? That represents tens of thousands of US citizens who died under your watch, an increase in tens of thousands. That represents double that number of the parents who are suffering," she said. Furthermore, Kiessling added, "You're going to keep laughing? About those who did die under your watch? Do we have to bring them in so you can look them in the eyes and laugh? What is wrong with you? This is unacceptable. Our president needs to apologize to me, and he needs to be held accountable."

'Her son's actions had consequences!'

However, Interent users had mixed reactions to Biden and Kiessling's online conundrum. One user wrote on Twitter, "She should sue him." Another chimed, "Happened in 2020 before he took office." A third user said, "In bidens defence that poor guy has no idea what he’s doing or where he is half the time." "It's very telling Joe had no compassion for her even if her dates were wrong. He is a self centered self serving con man and he still hasn't said what he is going to do about it," a comment read. A user tweeted, "Her son's actions had consequences. Individuals who take illegal drugs are responsible for their own death and nobody else." A user added, "Another single mom that lost control and now wants others to blame. What the RW would of said if this was a blk mother. But since she is white, hurry and get her to make-up and a microphone."
