'The Bachelor': Rachael Kirkconnell trolled for planning date, fans ask if 'she skydives to work every day'
For about a month now, Rachael Kirkconnell has been on the receiving end of a lot of hate on social media. A week after 'The Bachelor' went on air, a Redditor accused Rachael of racism and opened up about being bullied by her in high school for liking Black guys. The hate and anger blew up completely after Rachael's 'shop till you drop' date with season lead Matt James. Rachael's family kept defending her against the naysayers on social media but what everyone was expecting was an apology which didn't come until after Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay called her out for not taking accountability for her actions.
'Bachelor Nation' fans were in a frenzy over how the rest of the season would go considering Rachael was in the top four and that this situation had gone out of hand. A lot of people also thought about Chris Harrison's screentime being cut, as in his interview with Lindsay, he supported Rachael and he later apologized for perpetuating racism. None of that happened, it was confirmed on Monday night's episode but fans found one more reason to troll Rachael. She is from Cumming, Georgia, and since they couldn't fly out there due to coronavirus restrictions, she decided to give him a taste of what it'd be like to be in her hometown in the Nemacolin resort where they've been filming the season.

She decided to blindfold him and drove him in a high-end car towards an open field. It didn't take long to figure out that it was a skydiving date. Rachael seemed quite excited about this date and even though Matt was initially nervous, he seemed to enjoy the experience after he became comfortable mid-air. He landed safely but Rachael did not. Hers was a very unfortunate landing and she slammed into the ground with force. She was left with bruises and even though Matt was worried for her, the audience watching from home didn't sympathize with her; they trolled her for planning a date like that in the first place.
"Why is skydiving a part of this hometown? Does Rachel skydive to work every day? what????#TheBachelor," read a tweet. "Plantation party Rachael faceplants on skydive date? We love to see it. #TheBachelor" wrote another fan referencing the antebellum-themed plantation party Rachael was seen at. "Cue 1,000,000,000 memes of Rachael crashing into the ground during her skydive #TheBachelor," another tweet read. "Man, one of the few joys I've gotten out of this season of #TheBachelor is them showing Rachael absolutely eat it landing from a skydive time after time," wrote another fan on Twitter.
