When Netflix announced the launch of its all-new drama-thriller 'Queen Sono', we had no idea what to expect. The high octane trailer, however, made it look promising. And yet, there was hardly any chatter on social media. This isn't uncommon and the media is to blame for such low expectations from regional content. Why? Well, simply because the world never got to see such content, especially from Africa, ever before.

So far, the popularly labeled "dark continent" has always been associated with wilderness, political upheaval or deeply rooted ethnic culture. But is that what Africa all about? Absolutely not! And 'Queen Sono' is a living example of that.

Netflix South Africa left the global audience speechless with its first original series, revolving around a secret agent of the nation's Special Operations Group who fights corruption and seeks justice while fighting her personal challenges and avenging her mother's assassination. As soon as the show dropped, it not only gathered a fanfare within South Africa but also across the world.

From loving the show’s premise to appreciating the realistic portrayal of the country's socio-political landscape, fans were all praise. And now, after binge-watching over the weekend, fans want more and are demanding a second season.

Many Twitteratis are really unhappy  that the show launched with only six episodes. One comments, “@netflix 6 episodes? Really? That’s all we get of #QueenSono?" Another said, "I'm halfway through #QueenSono and girllllllll I'm mad it only has 6 episodes. I'll be done with it by tonight. Y'all should have gave us more @PearlThusi @KagisoLediga," says another.

We have to agree to these reactions because we also have been so pleasantly surprised and taken in by the entertainment value of this show. One Twitter user from South Africa feels quite connected to ‘Queen Sono’s story and says, "@PearlThusi when can we expect more episodes? #QueenSono I love how most things are parallel with our reality. Loved all 6 episodes, can't wait for more BombFire."

While some people are hoping for another season, others have already assumed there would be one. And we can't blame them. The show did leave enough room for more to happen with the characters.

"Queen sono is dope, great cast. Season 2 is gonna be fire Fire, cant wait!! Well done to the #QueenSono family," says one.

Though most of the praises are about the story, idea and production, fans also feel that all of that wouldn’t have been possible without all the efforts of Pearl Thusi. Admiring her work and the show, one user comments, "Shout out to the entire #QueenSono cast. A special salute to @PearlThusi for holding it down in a very authentic way. We await more episodes cause that wasn't near enough to feed the soul."

Even we can't wait for an all-new season of the action and drama and more insight into this fascinating part of the world. So, can we all please have another exciting season of 'Queen Sono'?
