PRAIA DA LUZ, PORTUGAL: Cops investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Germany reportedly spoke to a "psychic detective" who told them where he thinks the missing three-year-old girl is located. The information was claimed to be passed on to the authorities in Portugal. German clairvoyant Michael Schneider has apparently solved at least 25 missing persons cases since he began offering his assistance in investigations on a voluntary basis in 2006.

Schneider told the Daily Star that it was he who contacted the German prosecutors regarding information related to the missing three-year-old who vanished in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007. However, in other cases, "German and foreign authorities have often approached me." Explaining how he works, Schneider told the outlet: "I look at a photo of the missing person or animal and ask myself to God whether the creature is dead or alive and get an answer through my inner voice that is almost always correct." He then comes up with a location by running his fingers and eyes over an atlas, Google Maps, and Google Earth "until they stop on a spot." This technique has reportedly helped the clairvoyant aid police in locating a number of missing people.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters spoke to Michael Schneider

According to the Daily Star report, Hans Christian Wolters, the German prosecutor investigating McCann's disappearance, had conversations with Schneider. This detail was confirmed by Wolters himself over an email. Moreover, Schneider revealed that a "number of telephone calls" have taken place over the past few years. He further claimed that he told German authorities where he thought Madeleine was and this detail was forwarded to the relevant parties in Portugal. "The German authorities forwarded my information to the Portuguese, but as far as I know they have not received any feedback even after two years," he explained.

'She is located in the Algarve in Odiaxere'

Schneider believes McCann's location to be in the Algarve, Portugal, close to where she went missing. "She is located in the Algarve in Odiaxere," she said, as per the media outlet. The given location is reportedly different from where he previously marked. In his defense, the psychic detective said he has "daily, monthly, and yearly constitutions and I can always be wrong." Notably, Odiaxere has been previously named as a possible location where the missing youngster may be. Moreover, two months after McCann's disappearance an anonymous letter published in a Dutch newspaper claimed Madeleine was in the village.

Schneider talked about McCann's case previously to The Sun. "I do not give out such information lightly and without constantly questioning myself because I am very well aware of the responsibility of what I do. I am happy that the BKA seems to be taking me seriously. Often you have a reputation as a freak or someone just trying to squeeze money out of someone, and this is quite hurtful. I never take money," he told the outlet in 2021.
