MOSCOW, IDAHO: A professor of gender and sexuality at the University of Idaho is suing a TikTok true crime detective over a ludicrous allegation about the horrifying murders of four students in November. Professor Rebecca Scofield filed a case in Idaho that cited the Texas-based private investigator Ashley Guillard who makes claims about real crimes using tarot cards and other readings of wrongfully accusing her.

On November 13 —Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kernodle's boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20—were fatally stabbed inside the house they were renting off campus. The crime has not yet been solved. Scofield claimed in the complaint that she had never met any of the victims. For failing to take down the videos from which Scofield claims the professor premeditated the killings because she was seeing Kayla Goncalves, Guillard is being sued by the professor. Without providing any supporting evidence, Guillard claimed that Scofield committed the murders alongside another student because Goncalves was attempting to separate them and "keep from making the relationship public." On November 24, she first mentioned Scofield in a video.

Guillard claims on her page that she has also solved the killings of the rappers Takeoff, Kirshnik Khari Ball, Shanquella Robinson, and Kevin Samuels. Scofield claims in the complaint that none of the four victims of the horrifying murder were enrolled in any of her courses. Scofield claimed she doesn't even remember ever having met any of the students because she wasn't even in Moscow on the day of the killings; instead, she and her husband were in Oregon visiting friends. Guillard asserted at one point: “I don't care what y'all say, Rebeca Scofield killed [the victims] and she was the one to initiate the plan…” Only after the videos had been viewed by hundreds of people did Scofield beg the fate teller to take them down but Guillard did nothing. The TikToker was persistent, saying in a different video: “Rebecca Scofield is going to prison for the murder of the 4 University of Idaho students whether you like it or not.”

Guillard, who goes by the handle Ashley Solves Mysteries on TikTok, claims to have over 105,000 followers and 2.6 million likes. Scofield claims in the lawsuit that she has received online threats as a result of Guillard's recordings and that she is concerned for her family's safety. In a clip released on December 22 with the title, Guillard expressed: “Rebeca Scofield will regret this lawsuit. You just don't get it, I've been against people big and small, corporations and giants, systemic policies and racism and won. They all regret coming against me. All of them. Now Rebeca will be added to that list of regretful people.”

Guillard claims to be a military veteran, having served in the US Army from 2003 to 2007 as an HR Sergeant. She adds that she went to Columbus State University and Troy University as reported by Daily Mail. She is from Chicago and currently resides in Houston after having resided in Atlanta before. Guillard has authored books with titles like ‘The War on Your Money’ and ‘Live in Fantasy Land’. Scofield is an assistant professor of history at the University of Idaho, according to her web bio. According to the bio: “She is interested in how popular ideas about the West play out in people's everyday lives.” The Associated Press highlighted her research on gender stereotypes in 2018.
