'Show NO emotion': Prince Harry reveals how he was instructed to behave in mother Princess Diana's funeral
LONDON, ENGLAND: After a long wait, the first three episodes of Netflix’s new documentary series about the controversial royal couple, titled Harry & Meghan, were released on Thursday, December 8. This is the first time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be opening up about the negative press attention that forced them to make the shocking decision of stepping down from the royal family in 2020 after their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Prince Harry spoke about his mother, Princess Diana in one of the episodes where he said that he was told not to express his emotions at his mother's funeral. The 38-year-old's claim can create a spark among the royal members as Princess Diana's death has been one of the most controversial incidents, which has haunted the royal family since 1997. The former Princess of Wales was the first wife of King Charles III and is also the mother of Princes William. Princess Diana was widely known for her activism and her glamor made her an international icon and earned her enduring popularity, as well as almost unprecedented public scrutiny while she was alive.

The Duke of Sussex said he had to "wear two hats" after the death of his mother. "One was two grieving sons... two was the royal hat: show no emotion, get out there, meet the people and shake their hands," he said, according to Hindustan Times. Princesss Diana was killed in a horrific car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris while the driver was fleeing the paparazzi on 31 August 1997. The crash also resulted in the deaths of her companion Dodi Fayed and the driver, Henri Paul, who was the acting security manager of the Hotel Ritz Paris.
In the docuseries, Prince Harry also spoke about other women in the royal family and said he had learnt "the pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution." He added, “I remember thinking how can I ever find someone who is willing and capable to be able to withstand all the baggage that comes with being with me."
