'Power Book IV: Force' Episode 2 Review: Tommy makes new friends as well as foes

The episode begins as we see Diamond's (Isaac Keys) brother Jenard (Kris D Lofton) plotting to make moves against him with this character slowly becoming a pain in the a** for Diamond and Tommy. Meanwhile, Claudia (Lili Simmons), Walter Flynn's (Tommy Flanagan) daughter is playing her own game as she sneakily meets with distributors for the new drugs she is selling alongside her partner. Her product is excellent, leading to more demand, but that may prove to be a problem as there's a secret she doesn't know.

The fourth episode was immensely satisfying as we see Tommy gain a surprising new ally in Vic Flynn (Shane Harper). Yes, that's right another one of the Flynns' has gone over to the other side. Walter Flynn's own family betraying him is an enjoyable experience, as we love to see the powerful man being in the dark about it. As ever the show had mixed in various moments of humor along with the murderous ones. Vic saving Tommy and the latter responding with, " And that's how you get a cookie", in reference to him slapping his hand away earlier had us very amused. The ladies took centerstage this episode which was very satisfying. Claudia is not someone to be messed around with and her making sure of it was a very cool look on the character that is slowly building her own empire. Liliana (Audrey Esparza) could easily qualify as the MVP this episode with her badass moves and no f**ks to give attitude even when in danger. Her whip-smart mouth that spews sassy replies remains a source of enjoyment in each episode.

But that's not all as we also saw the brutal side of Tommy come out when an old enemy shows up. The Serbians are back with the final moments of the fourth episode building up more danger to come. While temporarily rattled, Tommy cold-bloodedly murdering the Serbs served as a reminder that the man who likes Liliana is funnily mouthy and not be messed with. There's danger in store for Tommy and his new allies as Walter is made aware of his son's betrayal. Add to that Claudia's rise and the threat of the Serbs who will most definitely be back for Liliana and Tommy, and we got ourselves a promising new episode to look forward to.

'Power Book IV: Force' returns with a new episode on Sunday at 8 pm ET on Starz.
