Post Malone fans alarmed after he reveals how many cigarettes he smokes in a day

The 'Rockstar' hitmaker admitted the habit has ‘messed up his voice’

Rapper Post Malone has opened up about his infamous smoking addiction and made a startling revelation that he smoked about 80 cigarettes in a day. Malone joined up with the Full Send podcast team for a nearly two-hour interview during which his affinity for cigarettes was discussed. The podcast was part of the press rounds for his new album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which dropped a few days ago.

“How many darts a day do you rip on average?” asked one of the hosts. "On a really terrible day - there's a fine line between a terrible day and a good day... 40, 45," he remarked. "By the time I ask Ben for that second pack, I'm like, 'Alright dude, chill out.'" Malone added, "But then by the time I open that third pack, I'm like, 'I'm a total piece of s*** and I need to go to sleep.'"

About the most cigarettes he's "ever ripped in a day", the 'Rockstar' hitmaker said "probably, like, 80", or roughly four packs. The artist continued by saying, "I used to [smoke in my bed] but not really anymore. Now I have a special zone that has my PC in it and my Magic: The Gathering s***, so I just go down there and f****** rip cigs and build decks and die in Apex Legends."

While his smoking habit has sparked concern among fans, Post seemingly isn't worried about his health at all. "It definitely has (f**ked up my voice)," he acknowledged. "But I mean, Johnny Cash smoked his whole life. He sounded cool, you know?"

During the interview, the star also spoke candidly about rekindling his passion for music: “What you love to do, at a certain point, it becomes your job. And then it gets very hard to say, ‘am I actually doing this for me and my fans or am I doing this to make a living?’

“I got to a point where I was like, I love making music. This is what I’m supposed to do. This is what makes me happy.”

Fans shocked

On Twitter, many fans voiced their opinions, with one fan writing: "Love him, but I can only imagine him tasting, and smelling like an ash tray," while another wrote, "Post Malone said he smokes 40 cigarettes a day and has smoked 80 in one day. How does that man still have a voice."

Another fan cocerned wrote, "Post Malone should switch to vaping to stop his smoking cigarettes habit," while this other Twitter user wrote, "I don’t know this man @PostMalone but somebody please encourage him to stop smoking cigarettes."

Malone, on the other hand, had reason to celebrate lately when he revealed that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child together. "I'm pumped beyond belief… I think, as a kid, I was like four or five, and I had this little baby I would carry around everywhere…it was a baby doll. And I thought that was the coolest thing. I would take him around everywhere. And I don't know how long that lasted. But my mom still has it. And I guess I'm so pumped up. I'm going to be a hot dad. DILF," Malone exclaimed.
