While Charli XCX's 2020 album 'How I'm Feeling Now' was met with much success, the singer revealed she has more songs in the bag that haven't seen the light of day yet. The only issue is: she's focused on other projects right now.

In a recent interview with Insider, Charli spoke about 'How I'm Feeling Now' but also revealed that it took the place of another studio project she was working on before the lockdown during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. 'How I'm Feeling Now' was released in May last year, marking Charli's fourth studio album in her discography. It was written and recorded entirely during lockdown from her home when artists weren't able to head to their labels' studios to continue their work.

While her DIY album proved a hit among fans, Charli has now shared her eagerness to return to completing her pre-lockdown music. "I’m sort of beginning to think about that again,” she told Insider. “There are thoughts that I’m having, and a direction that I’m taking."

Meanwhile, the pop star has other efforts which are seemingly occupying her focus. Recently, Charli XCX confirmed the rumors that she and The 1975 and No Rome are collaborating. Charli took to her social media on February 28 to reveal that she is "forming a supergroup" with the two acts. The trio have been teasing their collaboration since 2019, and finally gave fans a taste of their combined creativity with their debut single 'Spinning', which arrived last week.

Speaking of their delay to release music, Charli revealed to Insider that "They take a lot of time to work on ideas." She continued, "And that’s not shady! I think they know that I like to work really very fast, and I think they probably find that a bit psychotic at times."

"We did spend time really finessing it," Charli said of 'Spinning'. "Then it was just sort of sitting around for ages, and now it's coming out, which I've been really looking forward to because I think it's super good."

Charli XCX has also been gearing for the release of a new documentary that chronicles the making of 'How I'm Feeling Now'. Titled 'Alone Together', according to reports, the documentary will air on March 18 at the 2021 South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival.
