'Penthouse 2: War in Life' began just as we had expected, bringing viewers another murder. The victim's face is not something that we can make out, but if we were to guess, it looks like the young girl in white could be Bae Ro-na (Kim Hyun-soo), Oh Yoon-hui's (Eugene) daughter. Right after we see this girl tumble down the stairs, we travel four months back in time to see how Joo Dan-tae and Cheon Seo-jin's (Kim So-yeon) dating life has successfully progressed into an engagement.

Four months ago, Seo-jin is in New York for a performance where she meets her ex-husband Ha Yoon-cheol (Yoon Jong-hoon), while Dan-tae is out with other women as well. However, Dan-tae is quite the jealous psychopath and so what he does is beat the sh** out of Yoon-cheol and break her hands. Of course, this means the end of Yoon-cheol's career as a surgeon. It is also the beginning of another round of revenge-seeking and this time we wonder if Yoon-hui and Logan Lee (Park Eun-seok) will succeed this time around.

'Penthouse: War in Life' Season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about SBS Kdrama

It has been a year since Yoon-hui was stabbed by Logan and there has been no news about her since. Her daughter Ro-na instead is being watched by Dan-tae and the cops to ensure that Yoon-hui could be captured if she were to ever return.

Speaking of the kids who live at Hera Palace, Eun-byeol seems to enjoy the attention of all her classmates and she also seems to have aced the manipulation game, quite similar to her mother. Joo Seok-hoon (Kim Young-dae) and his twin sister Joo Seok-kyung (Han Ji-hyun) are unhappy about Dan-tae and Seo-jin's engagement but they are powerless at the moment. Bae Ro-na, the daughter of fugitive Yoon-hui on the other hand is the butt of all jokes who is harassed for the murder that her mother allegedly committed.

Over the year since Yoon-hui's appearance, Seo-jin and Dan-tae have continued to receive threats in increasing numbers. This ends up angering Dan-tae enough to torture Ro-na by using his housekeeper. The only one who seems to sympathize with Ro-na even a tad bit seems to be Jenny. Of course, she also gets targeted by Seok-hoon and Eun-byeol for the same, leaving no one to help Ro-na.

Where is Oh Yoon-hui?

For the most part of the premiere episode of 'Penthouse: War in Life' season 2 we do not see Oh Yoon-hui or Logan Lee. What we do see is Dan-tae, Seo-jin, and the other residents of the Hera Palace continue to live their lives with no worries. Dan-tae even goes to the extent of proposing Seo-jin officially. So where is Yoon-hui at this moment? Just as you begin to wonder the same, Dan-tae gets arrested as the suspect in the murder case of his late wife Shim Su-ryeong.

Yang Mi-ok, the housekeeper that Seo-jin and Dan-tae fired after her obsession with him increased ended up killing herself by suicide and she also left a suicide note after ingesting poison in which she claimed that the person who killed Su-ryeong was none other than Dan-tae. She also apologized to Yoon-hui for hurting her as well.

Dan-tae wonders if Yoon-hui had, in fact, killed his housekeeper to frame him with a fake suicide note. At that time, both Seo-jin and Dan-tae end up seeing Yoon-hui at the police station. The two of them end up blaming her and try to pin the blame on her, but turns out she had surrendered before Yang Mi-ok had died.

So what to expect in 'Penthouse 2: War in Life', episode 2?

What we will now see is how Yoon-hui manages to use the opportunity after her name is cleared to re-enter the lives of people who live at the Hera Palace. She is out for vengeance not just for herself but for Su-ryeon and her daughter who was killed by Yoon-hui herself. Yes, Yoon-hui had not been herself and accepts that she deserves to be punished. She even went as far as to surrender for the crime before Dan-tae ruined her life by framing her for the murder of Su-ryeon.

After Yang Mi-ok's note is used to corner Dan-tae, he, in turn, ends up framing his housekeeper for the murder of Su-ryeon. He is sure that Yoon-hui is connected to Yang Mi-ok's death, but is unable to figure out how she had managed to get the housekeeper to ingest poison. Turns out, the housekeeper had really died by suicide but in the presence of Logan Lee and Yoon-hui. That was how the two were able to plan the request for reinvestigation. Yoon-hui even sets out to make it seem as if she plans on fleeing the country after her release.

Three months later, at Seo-jin and Dan-tae's wedding ceremony -- which we have to point out is not legally binding -- Dan-tae figures out that Seo-jin is not someone who can be trusted. He understands that something between them has changed, and this happened the night after Seo-jin ended up sleeping with her ex-husband of course. However, he doesn't want to voice his concerns. Instead, what happens at this point is the arrival of unexpected guests at the wedding -- Yoon-hui and Yoon-cheol. Turns out he got married to Yoon-hui.

The promo of episode 2 shows how Seo-jin continues to want only that which she doesn't have. Now that Yoon-cheol has announced his marriage to Yoon-hui, she begins to obsess over him and the more she does, the more Yoon-hui attempts to get on her nerves. Dan-tae, who happens to be a jealous, insecure man in the first place may not be patient for too long. With her voice giving out on her, and her obsession with Yoon-cheol, Seo-jin will soon do something drastic.

So who was murdered in the opening and who is the perpetrator?

'Penthouse 2: War in Life' episodes will air on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 pm KST on SBS and can be streamed on Viki.
