'Penthouse' season 1 came to an end with Yoon-hui being accused of killing former penthouse resident Su Ryeon of the Hera Palace. The show, rated as one of the best of the season, extended its broadcast by one episode, and with 21 episodes under its belt, we have seen the thriller take some shocking twists and turns. So the ending of the first season is another twist, and a shocking one at that, as we saw Yoon-hui confessing to killing Su-ryeon when the real culprit was Su-ryeon's husband Dan-tae. Dan-tae is the same man who killed her first husband, switched her newborn with her first husband with a baby that was not healthy and restricted to bed in the hospital for all of her life for 16 years since. So it is not surprising that he would stoop to this.

In fact, it was only at the beginning of 'Penthouse' season 1 that she learned of all the horrors that her husband committed in the past. In fact, despite living in the same house, she was unaware that Dan-tae had been abusing their twin children Seok-kyung and Seok-hun. He had also revealed to the twins that they were not Su-ryeon's biological kids and brought upon a rift between them and her. Su-ryeon learned about all of this after being informed about her husband's acts through his manager. As she investigated, she learned that the tutor that the Hera Palace parents had hired to teach their kids high school math is actually her daughter who was switched at birth - Min Seol-ah. However, from the very beginning, we knew that Seol-ah was pushed off of the garden in Hera Palace's 100-storied apartment. The apartment where the richest of Koreans lived in Seoul.

As the story revolved around investigating who really killed Seol-ah, we meet different parent and children who had abused Seol-ah physically and mentally. This includes Seok-hun and Seok-kyung. Su-ryeon promised to exact revenge and she was almost successful. In fact, after Logan Lee aka Goo Ho-dong allied with her, they managed to wipe out everyone involved in Seol-ah's death, but because of Yoon-hui, the actual killer behind Su-ryeon's daughter died, and the plan was railroaded. Su-ryeon had trusted Yoon-hui to do what was right, and sure, she was about to surrender but before that, she ended up giving Dan-tae everything he needed to take his wife out.

He planned and executed her murder to look like Yoon-hui had committed the crime out of greed and jealousy and in the end, the evil residents of Hera Palace won. Su-ryeon's death helped Hera Palace residents get out of all the traps she had set for them the entire season with Logan Lee's help and yes, it is disappointing that evil won. However, we do believe that the show will return with a season that will see another war waged against the Hera Palace members and this time, they might not escape. The important thing now is to see if Yoon-hui really died or if she will survive her knife wound. Someone needs to take the mantel of seeking vengeance for Su-ryeon's death and we wonder if it will be just Logan Lee.

The upcoming season might return after a year. That way, all the kids -- Seok-hun, Seok-kyung, Je-ni, Min-hyeok, Ro-na -- can also return. Will they return to play mean roles or would they realize the mistakes of their way? After Je-ni helped Ro-na, we think it could be the latter. There is also the matter of who really is Seok-hun and Seok-kyung's real mother. From the easter eggs so far, we believe that this person would be a lookalike of Su-ryeon. You see she has a tattoo on her back, but she must look like Su-ryeon for the rumors about her and one influential businessman to make sense. This is something that Logan Lee had mentioned right before he had attacked Dan-tae head on and the same was not addressed again, so this could end up being the central plot of the show in the upcoming season that is expected to return by the end of January.

'Penthouse: War on Life' aka 'Penthouse' season 1 ended on January 4 and the second season is expected to return on January 29.
