'Penthouse: War in Life' season 2 will return soon and with it the show will return to being one of the best-rated shows in the history of Korean network SBS. The first season of the show had aired on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 pm KST. However, the days of broadcast for the second season will be different. The show portrays the lives of the top 1% of South Korea's rich and their families. In fact, the show had grabbed attention for portraying rich teenagers as bullies who almost push a young highschool girl to death.

Release date

'Penthouse: War in Life' Season 2 is slated to take over the slot previously occupied by the show 'Delayed Justice' and is expected to begin airing on January 30 if there are no unexpected delays.

Plot

Season 1:

The first season of the show centered on Shim Su-ryeon finding out the truth about her husband Dan-tae and how he had switched her baby at birth. However, unknown to even her husband, Su-ryeon's baby was brought upon an orphanage and as if the stars had aligned, she appears in front of Su-ryeon as a tutor who works for the kids living at Hera's Palace called Min Seol-ah. Neither mother nor daughter realizes the truth about their relationship, not until it is too late. Just when Su-ryeon learns about her daughter, she also watches Seol-ah get pushed from the 45th floor of their apartment and that launches a search for vengeance and justice with unexpected and thrilling plot twists.

Season 2:

At the end of Season 2, Su-ryeon is killed by Dan-tae who ends up blaming her ally Yoon-hui with the help of circumstantial evidence. While Yoon-hui did kill Seo-ah while she was drunk and disoriented, she was on her way to confess in jail when Dan-tae had used her worry for her own daughter Ro-na to get to her and use her in his plan. Of course, an unexpected ally, Logan Lee, had arrived to help her escape but the last scene saw her lying on the floor after she stabbed herself hinting at how the second season will see another round of vengeance-seeking.

The show stars an extensive cast with four families playing lead roles. Following is a list in the order of the family that they belong to.

Uhm Ki-Joon as Joo Dan-tae

Joo Dan-tae by the end of Season 1 had given in to his desire to kill his wife and take over all her wealth. So when Su-ryeon helps them get a leg up in terms of economic class, they experience the same feeling as what Cinderella would have experienced after a makeover by Fairy Godmother!

Eugene as Oh Yoon-hui

Yoon-hui shares a past with Seo-jin where the two of them had gone to the same music school. Yoon-hui had excelled as a singer, but Seo-jin was not up to mark and yet she manages to win first prize because of her father's connection, leaving Yoon-hui in a pitiful state. In a confrontation, Seo-jin even attacks Yoo-hui physically but ends up blaming it all on her poor classmate.

Kim Hyun-soo as Bae Ro-na

Ro-na who happens to be Yoon-hui's daughter is a spoiled brat who doesn't appreciate the efforts that her mother puts into her life and has for the most part always argued or been angry with her mother. She is the reason why her mother had even gone to the extent of killing a young girl, but at the moment Ro-na is not aware of the same. So now that her mother may just be dead, how will Ro-na cope up in the new season?
