NEW ALBANY, OHIO: The viral young woman from the Ohio State-Georgia game popularly dubbed as the 'Peach Bowl Girl' has been identified as Catherine Gurd. On December 31, she was featured during the broadcast of the College Football Playoff semifinal, and a video of her attending the game crossed the eyes of many viewers, leading her to be known with a new moniker.

Gurd, who is a lacrosse player at Xavier University was spotted among the crowd at the gallery, with her hands folded in a prayer pose and intensely concentrating on the game. She went viral after TikTok creator Hayden Sheppard shared a video on Monday showing Gurd at the game and wrote, “Someone find me this girl from Ohio State… for the love of god.”

In response to the viral video, Gurd herself shared a clip on her TikTok page on Monday, confirming the speculations on the internet saying that she was 'Peach Bowl Girl' in the viral video.  “When you kick off 2023 with a new name,” she captioned the video.

“POV your 3 seconds on tv somehow makes you go viral,” Gurd wrote previously in an earlier video she posted on TikTok. The college athlete rose to fame in the three-second video that resulted in a huge following on her Instagram handle with 23,000 followers and counting.

She shared a post on Sunday of herself at the game along with a screenshot of the popular picture of her attending the game. The post captioned “Buckeyes forever.”



 

According to her profile on Xavier University, the gorgeous girl is a freshman majoring in biomedical sciences and hails from New Albany, Ohio. Gurd, is not only a sports fan but an on-field performer herself who was a three-year captain in lacrosse and is a four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse and field hockey. "Led her team to back-to-back state runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019, compiling a 39-8 record during that span," and "also played club lacrosse for Impact Lacrosse" read her bio on the university profile page.

In the Peach Bowl, the Buckeyes lost the game to the Bulldogs, making way for Georgia to the national championship game. On Monday, the team will be facing TCU in Los Angeles.
