Slain Paul Murdaugh’s girlfriend Morgan Doughty claims he grabbed her by neck and his family covered up DUI crash
WALTERBORO, SOUTH CAROLINA: Inside the mysterious death of the Murdaugh family, the girlfriend of the slain 22-year-old Paul Murdaugh has revealed disturbing insights about the pair's tumultuous relationship, before his death. Morgan Doughty, 23, spoke of her grim relationship with her late boyfriend and his family in a recent interview for the Netflix documentary 'Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal'. ''He got on top of me, and I just remember him screaming and telling me to shut up, grabbing me by the neck,' Doughty spoke of her relationship with Paul.
Paul Murdaugh and his mother, Margaret Murdaugh, 52, were found fatally shot several times at the family's sprawling hunting lodge in Moselle, South Carolina, on June 7, 2021. Disgraced legal scion Alex Murdaugh, 54, is in the fifth week of a double homicide trial, accused of killing his wife and son. He is also expected to take the stand on Thursday, February 23, as part of his own defense.

Who is Paul Murdaugh's girlfriend?
Paul Murdaugh and Morgan Doughty began dating during their junior year of high school. In the Netflix documentary, Doughty reveals that during her relationship with Paul, she was an alleged victim of domestic violence. Slain Paul was an abusive partner who would often kick her, choke her, and even punch her in the face, according to Daily Mail.
Doughty claimed that both of them would often break up and got together creating a rough patch in their relationship. "I think that our relationship is just something that I really clung to just because when it was good, it was really good. But when it was bad, it was really bad," Doughty said.

Doughty explained her relationship soon became physical, recalling an instance where a drunk Paul allegedly kicked her, telling her to shut up during the graduation celebration of his older brother, Buster. "He got on top of me, and I just remember him screaming, 'I told you to shut up,'" Doughty said. "Just holding down my throat. I just remember then he punched me really hard in the knee." She recalled another instance where Paul slapped her after getting into a horrifying boat accident in 2019, that took the life of Mallory Beach.
Furthermore, Doughty reveals a drunk driving accident with Paul in 2017, which his family allegedly covered up. She said on the 'Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal' documentary that during Christmas, drunk Paul "aggressively" requested to drive before he lost control of his truck and crashed into a ditch.
Doughty attempted to call 911 for help but Paul allegedly grabbed her phone and hung it up. In return, he called his father Alex, and grandfather, Randolph. Doughty said, Alex and Margaret arrived at the crash scene and cleared the beers and guns, adding, that they instead criticized her for attempting to call the police.
