A group of people who visited Universal Studios in Hollywood had to be rescued on Thursday, April 8, after being trapped on the Transformers attraction due to a power outage.

According to ABC 7 in Los Angeles, guests at the amusement park were stuck on the Transformers 3D attraction, which promotes itself as "the greatest battle you'll ever ride," due to a power outage at around 3:45 p.m. The ride came to a standstill for about 2 hours and 11 passengers had to be evacuated. It was reported that no passengers were hurt during the malfunction.

One of the park's rides called the Harry Potter ride was also reportedly harmed. Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACOFD) units surrounded the north side of the theme park, which looked to be the only area of the park affected by the outage, according to AIR7HD video from above the scene.

According to the affiliate, Universal Studios said, "As a result of a power interruption from So Cal Edison, we experienced a brief power dip which resulted in exiting guests from some attractions. Power has been fully restored and we’re working to get a few remaining attractions back online. The theme park remains open."

Ride closures, weather concerns, and unexpected power outages are all common occurrences at a large amusement park. One of the main causes of the ride's inaccessibility has been because of power outages. On November 11, 2021, one of those power outages struck Universal Orlando Resort, which had temporarily closed a popular section of the park, as reported by Lydia Storks on AllEars.

All three attractions (Flight of the Hippogriff, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure) at Universal's Islands of Adventure's Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade went offline, and the Universal Orlando app classified all three as "closed." When Storks reached out to Universal via Twitter, they were told that the resort was now closed due to power outages.
