LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pamela Anderson has always been a bit of an open book and never really shied away from saying how and what she felt about certain things. She was never told to draw lines while saying or doing things and that’s why she never got scared while talking about her body, her personality, her relationships, and a lot of other things. However, things got really weird when her private videos with her ex-husband Tommy Lee got stolen and were sold across the globe with the help of the internet. That changed everything and for some people, including journalists, she just became an object and they didn’t even try faking it in front of her.

For many years, Anderson has been living under a lot of pressure of not being able to tell everything from her point of view, but she is ready to take control of her own story now and get candid about her controversial life in the Netflix documentary ‘Pamela, A Love Story’. This is the first time Anderson will be talking about some of the biggest and most controversial moments of her life. From making her debut in Playboy magazine to her several relationships, the star opened up about all the little things that people don’t know about.

Pamela takes the control of her own story in a ‘riveting’ fashion

The documentary starts with a revelation that she has maintained a lot of journals in which she has written all the major things that have happened throughout her life and once those journals start revealing minor details about how Anderson lived her life, you get an idea about the price she had to pay for being an icon. In one of the most harrowing moments, we get to hear that Anderson was molested by her babysitter when she was really young and it continued to happen for many years. The incident made her really weak for a good amount of time and wanted to kill the culprit by “stabbing her”. As the story progresses, Anderson, in a heartbreaking voice, also noted how she was raped as a pre-teen and physically abused by various partners. Incidents like these feel make us feel that Anderson was never given a chance to come forward with her real personality and tell her what kind of person she really is. Everyone made guesses about her and pretended that they knew her, but they never really did.

Even while talking about the terrible things she has suffered in her life, she never thinks of herself as a victim. The star feels that she has been a “survivor” all her life and never regretted the decisions she took in her life.

The best part of the documentary is that it doesn’t feature a lot of people and the only people taking in this docu, except Anderson, are her parents and her sons. However, it didn’t shy away from showing clips of journalists who tried to belittle her by making cheap and sexist comments about her throughout her career.

From the very first frame, Anderson is shining bright like a diamond and has a heart-melting smile all over her face throughout the documentary. She was candid while talking about all the controversial stuff, but you could feel how upset she was while talking about those moments because she has gone through a lot over the years and never really got a chance to talk about it. Now, that she has, she is leaving no stone unturned to be as candid as she can be.

An ‘intimate’ approach to a life filled with unwarranted controversies

‘Pamela, A Love Story’ might feature a lot of controversial moments, but in the end, it’s an intimate story about a woman who had a traumatic past and is doing her best to recover from it. For decades now, Anderson has been put down and told to remain quiet on a number of occasions, but this documentary serves as a medium for the superstar to talk about things that are really close to her heart. The documentary is an extraordinary look at Anderson’s life that has always been in the spotlight and will make you fall in love with the ‘Baywatch’ star once again.
