'One last time': 'The Voice' pays heartfelt tribute to Blake Shelton with 'beyond lucky' moments
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's been a great journey with Blake Shelton for 23 long seasons. But all that starts has to end one day and the same is the case with Blake's journey on 'The Voice'. Season 23 is the final bow-off of the coach.
In order to pay tribute to its long-running coach, NBC gathered Blake's best moments over the years. From Season 1 to 23, we have seen the 'Austin' singer coaching a lot of soulful talents. 'The Voice' will never remain the same without Blake. Well, that's something that is recognized by both the streaming platform as well as the coaches. NBC pays tribute to Blake Shelton
Before Blake could have signed off from the show, NBC paid a heartfelt tribute to one of the funniest coaches. The streaming platform showcased the first interview with Blake when he came to 'The Voice'. When asked by the producers, "Explain to us, This is what 'The Voice' is about..." Blake said, "I wish I could sit here and tell you exactly what 'The Voice', the television show, is going to be about. It has to start with a great voice." Furthermore, in the video we see contestants saying Blake's name as they choose him as their coach. Katie Perry said, "I think it's impossible to figure 'The Voice' and not think of Blake Shelton." She further explained that people are "really attracted to him."
Blake Shelton described as 'funny and genius'
The tribute video of Blake showed a flashback where the coach is seen having a conversation with Camila Cabello. Camila accepts in a confessional about Blake, "He is like the funniest people I've ever met." She further praised the coach for being empathetic and caring towards the contestants. Pharrell Williams is further seen saying in the tribute video, "Blake is genius at engaging with people." The coach is then seen bringing tears to contestants' eyes by embarking his sweet cheerful words.
Blake was a fatherly figure to many contestants. One of the contestants in her confessional clip claimed that he was like her "crazy uncle" who always looked out for her. Another contestant said Blake was "almost like a father" to her.
Blake Shelton finds himself to be 'beyond lucky' to be on 'The Voice'
The tribute video also had Blake's confession in it where the coach is seen expressing his feelings for the show. The singer says, "I feel beyond lucky to have been able to call 'The Voice' my home for past 12 years." He added, "I've crossed paths with amazing coaches, I even met my wife on the show." The clip then showed the contestants choosing Gwen Renee Stefani over Blake. Gwen confesses in the video that it was "funny" to go head-to-head with Blake on the show. The tribute video brought up cheerful and flirty moments between the couple on the show.
Towards the end, Niall Horan claims, "I can see why exactly people of America are falling in love with this man." Indeed, Blake will surely be missed by not only the viewers but the coaches and the show as well.
