NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A disturbing video shared on Twitter shows two NYPD officers being heckled by a man who hesitated in no way or form while harassing them racially and sexually. The man who records the video abuses a male and a female police officer who are visibly on duty and have handed someone a form of indictment or warning. While the person of interest to the NYPD officers acted calmly, the one recording the video showed how the city has lost all respect for its cops which is a growing problem in all of America.

One of the largest police unions in New York City, the Detectives Endowment Association, shared a video on Twitter sharing this horrifying incident where a Black cop and a Hispanic cop are trying to interact with some people in the group but are slammed by a certain onlooker. The video shows the man calling the male officer the N-word and the female a "fake Puerto Rican." He went as far as to say, "suck his black d**k b***h." Feeling threatened, the officers did not make a mountain of a molehill and calmly walked away showing no signs of aggression. The tweet reads, "This is the environment created by politicians who believe in coddling criminals and casting aside victims — in NO CONSEQUENCES. 'Nobody should be surprised, and no cop should be subjected to this. New Yorkers are watching and continue to live in fear." The man who harassed the police officers in New York City remains unidentified and it's unclear whether any action has been taken against him.

While NYPD did not immediately respond to questions regarding the video, Sgt Betsy Brantner-Smith, a spokeswoman for the National Police Association, told Daily Mail, "This video is abhorrent and is indicative of the kind of harassment law enforcement officers receive on a daily basis. Verbal harassment of police officers is nothing new, but it has become more common and more venomous in the last several years as American law enforcement is vilified in the media and by activists and politicians who wrongly claim police officers are a danger to their communities."

The relationship between police and civilians in America has worsened over the years. This detachment from the law enforcement officials and the system, in general, has led to a severe recruiting crisis in the US. Sgt Betsy Brantner-Smith shed further light on this, "We have both a recruiting and retention problem for law enforcement here in the US, and it's becoming a crisis." She explained how even the existing officers cannot wait to quit the force saying, "NYPD is experiencing record retirements and exits before officers even become eligible to receive retirement benefits. LAPD just disbanded their Animal Cruelty unit and reduced their Homeless Outreach unit by 80%."

The police on Tuesday evening named a "person of interest" in the mass shooting and believe that they have found his personal belongings left on the train that includes a Glock 9-millimeter handgun and a key to a U-Haul van. Mayor Eric Adams this morning announced that Frank James, the "person of interest" is now considered a suspect. (Photo by Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images)

Sgt Brantner-Smith continued to explain the worsening situation of America's police department as a whole saying, "Seattle PD staffing is at a 30 year low, and they have about half of the specially trained detectives they had 2 years ago, affected their ability to investigate serious crimes like rape. I could go on and on. The Defund the Police movement, the vilification of law enforcement and pro-criminal "criminal justice reform" have made our communities much less safe and the police profession dangerously understaffed."
