ZACATECAS, MEXICO: In a shocking incident, a dog was captured running down a street with a decapitated human head clutched in its jaws. According to the authorities,
the dog is believed to have picked it up from a crime spot in the state of Zacatecas in the north of Mexico.

As per Marca, investigators said that the dismembered head had been left on a piece of cardboard at an ATM in Monte Escobedo on Wednesday, October 26. It was accompanied by a sign warning that read, "the next head is yours." However, before it could reach the person it was intended for, the canine picked it up.

Authorities believe that The Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), one of the most feared cartels, is behind it. The cartel's head is El Mencho, who comes at the top of Mexico's most wanted person. He is also wanted by US authorities and carries a reward of 10 million dollars for information on him.

The victim remains unidentified and the rest of the body has not been found. As per the outlet, when the authorities found the dog and the head, they were able to pull it away from the animal.

Social media users were horrified by the video. One user wrote on Twitter, "Yoooo Mexico crazy af with that video going around of a dog carrying a human head," while another said, "Gore // jesus that news about a dog in mexico carrying a (real) human head... why i am not surprised (its sad)."

Zacatecas is the prime spot of war between local gangs backed by the Sinaloa and Jalisco drug cartels. The drug cartels are known for brutally dismembering bodies and leaving notes next to them.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the southern city of Ahvaz on Saturday, February 5 saw an unnamed Iranian man kill his 17-year-old wife Mona Heydari before carrying her severed head through the streets of the city. After attempting to depart the country, his wife was kidnapped and killed in an 'honor killing.'

After her family realized that she was having an affair, the young wife is said to have fled to Turkey. According to local media sources, her father and husband hunted her down in the country and brought her back to Iran this week. The victim was just 12 years old when she married the man, who was also her cousin, and had a three-year-old son when she was murdered.

Authorities have charged the husband and his brother with murdering Mona in retaliation for her adultery and abandonment. However, the identities have not been released by the police yet. The man could be seen gloating in a viral video while holding a knife in one hand and what appeared to be his wife's decapitated head in the other. However, the video has now been taken down. According to the state-run IRAN newspaper, Iran's media watchdog shut down the news website Rokna after it published the video footage.
