With an increasing number of brands focusing on being inclusive, everyone has options and variety. But for those with disabilities, these options certainly feel limited and not so mainstream. But now, No Limbits is out to change that! No Limbits is an "adaptive clothing brand with the mission of increasing comfort, confidence and independence in those who struggle with clothing due to a disability".

While the brand has been doing some phenomenal work so far, will it be enough to impress Mark Cuban, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Grenier, Robert Herjavec and guest judge Emma Grede? Let's find out!

What is No Limbits?

For people with disabilities, normal apparel isn't wearer friendly. But that's what No Limbits hopes to resolve, as it combines functionality and fashion, all aimed at those with limited mobility. As per the brand's website -- "No Limbits adaptive clothing was created for amputees, wheelchair users, and people who experience limited dexterity and sensory sensitivities. We use a human-centered design approach to address comfort, independence and style. Our goal is to help all people with disabilities through accessible apparel solutions that make everyday life a little easier."

Who is the founder?

Erica Cole is the founder of No Limbits. She graduated from University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. She is a Halcyon Cohort Fellow, a Future Founders Fellow and a Target Incubator Fellow. When Erica lost her leg in a car crash in 2018, she soon realised that her wardrobe needed a overhaul as her clothes wouldn't go over her bulky prothetic. As per the brand's website -- "this made getting dressed in the morning a pain and making adjustments throughout the day even more difficult. Erica eventually found that practicality ended up winning out over her own personal style, a compromise she hated having to make.

Drawing on the skills that she learned as a theatrical costume designer, Erica decided it was time to take matters into her own hands. She designed the perfect jeans for her. They were easy to get on and off, they fit over her prosthesis and they were reinforced to withstand increased wear and tear. These pants made such a huge difference for Erica that she decided that she wanted to help other amputees who shared her frustration." Erica's idea for No Limbits led to winning the Iowa JPEC IdeaStorm. She went on to win many more startup contests and even had a successful Kickstarter campaign.

What is the cost and where to buy?

You can buy No Limbits apparel from the brand's website. The unisex Sensory Tee retails for $30, while the trousers retail for $70. What makes the trousers unique is that they can be adjusted to suit your needs.

As per the descriptions -- "These ready-to-wear jeans are great for amputees looking to find the perfect pair that is flattering, comfortable, and soft while also making it easy to get dressed and undressed. They fit over prosthetics and even have a hidden zipper to allow you to make adjustments throughout the day. These jeans feature a mid-rise, straight fit with just enough room to fit over bulkier prosthetics.

Where is No Limbits now?

While No Limbits retail line seems limited, they are certainly expanding and are now venturing into wheelchair user-friendly clothes. As mentioned on their website -- "We’ve created great-fitting adaptive wheelchair jeans that are easy to put on with comfortable stretch panels that keep transfers modest." While the line is currently unavailable, you can sign for the email list to know when it drops. The wheelchair jeans were recently featured on Runway of Dreams Foundation's Global Premiere during the 2022 Los Angeles Fashion Revolution too.

Who will steal the deal?

While there is no sure way to tell who might take the bait, seeing that the brand does fall under apparel, the shark with the means to scale it is Emma Grede.
