Rajon Lateef Jackson: Maryland teen shot dead while he was walking back home
WALDORF, MARYLAND: In Waldorf, Maryland, a teenager was shot and killed while returning home, according to the authorities. The incident occurred at around 2.30 pm on Friday, January 13, with police suspecting that it was "not a random act".
Rajon Lateef Jackson, III, a 17-year-old resident of Waldorf, was the victim. According to a press release from the Charles County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting at around 2:30 pm on Friday near Harvest Fish Place and Dorchester Circle.

When the victim was discovered, he had been shot. The sheriff's office said that officers and EMS rendered first aid to the victim who was transported to a hospital. Jackson died early on Saturday morning from succumbing to his wounds. Investigators think Jackson was returning home on foot and was in his neighborhood when the suspect shot him. They opined that it was probably not a random accident. The County Sheriff's office is looking at it as a homicide.

This does not appear to be a random act, the Sheriff's office said in the press release. Detectives are pursuing leads and ask anyone with information to call Detective Bringley at 301-609-6499.
Meanwhile, a man is found dead after a shooting in Temple Hills, Maryland, on Friday, police said, NBC Washington reported. The shooting happened in the 2200 block of Afton Street at about 11 pm, Prince George’s County police said. Officers found a man inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds, who died at the scene. Police said they were working to find a suspect and motive.
