LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian is still working hard to earn her law degree. The SKIMS founder, 42, uploaded a photo of two binders to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, February 20, 2023, titled "CON LAW 1" and "Community Property," which were placed next to a coffee cup on a wooden table.

Kardashian, who was earlier seen with daughter North in a TikTok video, attended a dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday at the residence of businessman Michael Rubin to support the nonprofit Reform Alliance, which is overseen by Jessica Jackson, one of Kardashian's legal mentors, reports Daily Mail. The purpose of the gathering, according to Kardashian's Instagram post, was "to discuss the importance of helping others who have been affected by our justice system."

When did Kim Kardashian announce her law studies?

Kim Kardashian is known for making headlines with her stunning photos, but in April 2019, she made the news by announcing that she was enrolling in a law degree. This was a logical next step for Kardashian, who at the time had previously been promoting criminal justice reform. In particular, she was crucial in Alice Marie Johnson's release from a life without parole sentence for a first-time nonviolent drug conviction.

'If I knew more, I could do more'

"I had to think long and hard about this," Kardashian earlier said to Vogue, adding, "I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society. I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more."

'Studied harder and tried again until I did it'

In 2018, Kardashian said she registered with the California State Bar, and for the following four years, she would have to spend a minimum of 18 hours per week and pass written and multiple-choice exams on a monthly basis. In addition, the reality TV star claimed that she was studying for the baby bar or first-year law exam. On Dec 13, 2021, the TV star announced that she had passed. "For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me," she said in her post, adding, "I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I'm not making excuses😉)."

'Death row inmate pleads Kim Kardashian for help'

A prisoner on death row has pleaded with Kim Kardashian to help him get spared from execution. Jeffery Lee Wood has been on death row for the past 24 years after being found guilty of murder in 1998 despite not having killed anyone. Wood's execution has already been set two times, but he is still optimistic that he will eventually leave the Polunsky Unit jail in Livingston, Texas. According to Wood, who describes his bleak outlook, he frequently lives in a 24-hour lockdown but when he does not, he eats breakfast between 1-3 am, goes to bed at 4 am, and wakes up at 6 am for a two-hour 'recreation', "which is basically sitting in cages outside," reports Mirror.

According to the Daily Star, Wood claimed that while their final prisoner was being led to the execution chamber, he and his fellow inmates sang "Amazing Grace" together. Wood insists that because he "never killed anyone," he shouldn't be suffering the same fate. He admits planning to rob a Texaco convenience store in 1996 with a gang of men.
