'New Amsterdam' Season 3 Episode 4: Is it finally the end for Dr Floyd and Evie? Fans say 'never liked her'

Evie tells Floyd she should have never made him leave New York

For most people, home is where the heart is. But for Dr Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims), a hospital is clearly where the heart is. This is not just because his former romantic interest, Dr Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery), was left behind at 'New Amsterdam' when Floyd moved to San Francisco with his fiance Evie (Margot Bingham). While he may have moved for love, sometimes love just isn't enough. At the beginning of Season 3, when Dr Reynolds returns to help out with Dr Vijay Kapoor's (Anupam Kher) critical condition, we can see that he is full of regret that he wasn't with his 'New Amsterdam' colleagues when the pandemic hit.

The fact that his former best friend and, of course, romantic interest Dr Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) was hit the hardest by the pandemic, has also made Dr Reynolds think twice about going back to his life in San Francisco.

It seems that Floyd's fiance Evie is aware of his dilemma and gives him a way out. In a teaser on the show's Twitter page we see Evie returning her ring to Floyd, without any animosity but just great sadness. She says that she shouldn't have made him leave New York, he says she didn't make him, he wanted to.

Fans didn't seem to be particularly upset that this relationship is over for the moment. One fan tweeted, "Thank god that couple is done . I never liked her ".

Others are hoping that now that Bloom and Reynolds are in the same city, they can finally realize that they are meant for each other. One fan tweeted saying, "Evie keeps stressing my boy...i have had enough can we just make Bloom, Reynolds permanenf gf...lol"

So will Bloom and Reynolds take on the emotionally intimate moment they shared recently or will Reynolds continue to have second thoughts about Evie?
